Student project for sustainable development over a decade, reaching national level

In order to promote the comprehensive development of students through practical experiences, HSU has pioneered the transformation of subjects into projects and competitions. From school-level playgrounds, many projects and competitions initiated by students have grown into national competitions, attracting hundreds of contestants each year and increasingly asserting their influence in the student community.

In each project, students play a central role from developing ideas, writing proposals, finding sponsorship, communicating, managing budgets, time, human resources to running the event. Each competition is a “real-life business model” where students are trained in both professional skills and problem-solving and teamwork skills.

Academic playgrounds from business, finance, tourism - services to technology, creativity all clearly demonstrate the organizational capacity, thinking and bravery of students. Thanks to the seriousness in operation and investment from the School, many competitions have developed sustainably over more than a decade, becoming "brands" associated with many generations of Hoa Sen students.

A typical example is The Future Chef competition - a national playground for more than 10,000 young chefs in the past 12 years, which set a Vietnam Guinness Record in 2022. At the same time, students also organize I-Hotelier - an iconic competition for the Restaurant - Hotel industry that has gone through 16 seasons.

In the creative field, TVCreate - a "13-year-old" playground, is considered a real "training ground", helping students gain experience in the real marketing environment and become familiar with the professional TVC advertising production process. In addition, the EOS film screening activity has created a golden decade, becoming the cradle of young filmmakers. Many works from EOS have entered the major film arena, received sponsorship from international units, and have been highly appreciated by experts. Fashion design students have also spent 12 years building a reputation among fashionistas with the Fashion Creation fashion show.

Recognized and advised by many global businesses for many years

Not only maintaining a professional organization scale, the competitions and projects also build prestige in the domestic and foreign business community. Most competitions are professionally sponsored by leading experts, some projects also have the continuous support of international enterprises.

Typically, in the field of Finance - Accounting, students have made a clear mark through academic competitions held 100% in English such as The Professional Analyst or A Day as a Chief Accountant. In particular, the One Day as a Chief Accountant competition organized by students of the Faculty of Finance - Banking was advised by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and leading auditing and securities companies.

The One Day as a Chief Accountant contest organized by HSU students is 100% in English.

Or in the field of Restaurant - Hotel, the I-Bartender competition with more than half a decade of nurturing the generation of young Vietnamese bartenders has received advice from the world's leading F&B experts. Notably, the 2025 season has the participation of Mr. Ho Boon Leong - top 100 Tatler Best of Asia, and manager of Native - a bar on the list of Asia's 50 Best Bars.

Along with that, the I-Hotelier competition has also been accompanied for many years by 5-star international hotel brands such as New World Saigon, Continental Hotel Saigon, Sheraton Hotel... These units are famous for their professionalism and high standards, which have guaranteed the quality of the competitions, while also bringing experiences and open career opportunities to students.

For students of the Faculty of Economics and Management, a series of competitions such as HSU Business Challenge, The Future Human Resource Manager... with the advice of leading managers and businessmen, become a career launch pad, a place to practice leadership skills and management thinking. In addition, HSU students also constantly affirm their creativity and entrepreneurial spirit through playgrounds such as Behind the Data, The Guiding Star, Micatcher, Culture Day, HSU Programming Challenge, International Trade Arena...

Future Human Resource Manager Competition under the guidance of Human Resource Management lecturers.

Projects and competitions at HSU are not only a practical learning environment but also an important bridge to businesses. Many students have been recruited right from their university days thanks to their professional capacity, organizational thinking and outstanding courage.
