( Bqp.vn ) - On the morning of October 8, in Hanoi, the delegation of the Legal Department of the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam, led by Major General Han Manh Thang, Director of the Department, held talks with the delegation of the Legal Department of the Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Cuba, led by Lieutenant Colonel Gema Calvino Santana, Director of the Department.
At the talks, both sides affirmed that the special relationship between Vietnam and Cuba is developing deeply and extensively, achieving many achievements in many fields. Along with the development of the bilateral relationship, Vietnam - Cuba defense cooperation is identified as one of the important pillars. The two sides emphasized that, along with the visit and work in Cuba by the Delegation of the Legal Department of the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam in 2023, the visit and work in Vietnam by the Delegation of the Legal Department of the Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Cuba will open up cooperation in the field of military and defense law-making, contributing to deepening the special relationship between the two countries.

The two sides discussed the structure, functions, tasks and activities of each agency; the process of drafting legal documents, the role of each agency in drafting legal documents of each country's Army; international documents related to military and defense... To promote cooperation in building military and defense laws between the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces in the coming time, the two sides agreed to increase the exchange of experiences and support each other in the process of performing tasks.
The two heads of delegation signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of military and defense law between the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Cuba.
On behalf of the Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Cuba, Lieutenant Colonel Gema Calvino Santana respectfully expressed his gratitude to the Government and the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam for supporting the Government and the Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Cuba in many fields, some of which have achieved important results. Thereby, the deep affection and close relationship between the State and the Ministry of National Defense of the two countries in general, the Legal Department of the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam and the Legal Department of the Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Cuba in particular, have been increasingly affirmed.

Immediately after the talks, under the authorization of the Minister of National Defense of Vietnam and the Minister of the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces, the two sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of military and defense law between the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam and the Ministry of the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces.
