Attack in Dak Lak: Spokesperson of the Ministry of Public Security informs about the results of initial questioning

On the afternoon of June 14, Lieutenant General To An Xo, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Public Security, informed about the results of the investigation, struggle, and taking initial statements in the case of a number of subjects using guns to attack the headquarters of the People's Committee of Ea Tieu and Ea Ktur communes, Cu Kuin district, Dak Lak province.

Lieutenant General, could you tell us what the Ministry of Public Security thinks and evaluates about the incident in which a group of people opened fire at the headquarters of the People's Committee of two communes in Cu Kuin district, Dak Lak province on June 11? The Ministry of Public Security assessed that the incident that occurred in Cu Kuin district on June 11 was a serious, organized, reckless, barbaric, and inhumane act of causing insecurity and disorder. This group shot dead the Secretary of Ea Ktur commune, the Chairman of Ea Tieu commune, 4 police officers, 3 residents, and injured several others. When they stormed the headquarters of the People's Committee, they broke the glass door, shot the officers, continued to use primitive weapons to attack, taking the lives of the victims, and threw petrol bombs to burn down the People's Committee. On the way, they blocked vehicles, shot drivers and residents when they encountered them, and continued to commit barbaric acts as they had done to the commune officials. Through initial statements, these subjects stated: "We received instructions that if we met cadres and commune police, we would kill them, rob them of their property and guns." Their actions were brutal, extremely dangerous, and had extremely serious consequences, causing insecurity and disorder at the grassroots level. These are actions that need to be strongly condemned and promptly dealt with strictly before the law. The incident shows the bravery and dedication to the common cause of the Ea Ktur commune Party Secretary and Ea Tieu commune Chairman (when they knew something was happening at the commune headquarters, they immediately went to the scene and were murdered by bad guys).

Faced with the savage recklessness of the subjects, a number of commune police officers, commune officials and even people were injured or killed. After the incident, how did the leaders of the Party, State, and Ministry of Public Security pay attention and implement policies for the cases of sacrifice and injury? Immediately after the incident, the leaders of the Party, State, and directly the Prime Minister , Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang directed the settlement of the incident, the implementation of policies and regimes for the sacrificed and injured officers and soldiers; and decided to recognize 6 martyrs as martyrs. Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang visited and encouraged the families of the victims and requested the authorities of Dak Lak province at all levels to pay attention and support the lives and spirits of the families of the victims. The Minister of Public Security signed a decision to promote the ranks of 4 comrades of the Cu Kuin District Police, Dak Lak province who sacrificed; support policies for the families of 4 comrades who died and 2 comrades who were injured. Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang, Deputy Minister of Public Security, directly visited and mourned the victims, presented decisions on posthumous promotion of ranks to the officers and soldiers who died and supported the families of the comrades.

What activities is the Ministry of Public Security currently implementing to ensure control of security and order in Dak Lak province? What recommendations does the Lieutenant General have for those involved in the shooting who are still on the run? With the spirit of fiercely attacking and capturing all the subjects who caused the incident, up to now, the police force, functional units, and the support of the masses have arrested 46 subjects.

To control the security and order situation in the area, Minister of Public Security To Lam and Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang have directed the application of all necessary measures to capture all the criminals who are hiding, seize all weapons and explosives, and ensure absolute safety for the people and the forces participating in the capture. Conduct investigation and handling work quickly, in accordance with regulations; synchronously deploy measures to eliminate the risk of similar incidents, taking advantage of the incident to incite insecurity and disorder; direct and review all plans to ensure absolute security in key areas, targets, and fields; prepare forces and means to handle complicated situations that arise. The Ministry of Public Security requests and calls on the subjects who are hiding to surrender as soon as possible to enjoy leniency under the law. The Ministry of Public Security requests that people actively participate in denouncing crimes, providing accurate information to help the authorities capture the subjects; be extremely vigilant against distorted and hostile arguments and proactively ensure safety while the authorities continue to hunt down fugitives. The incident of a group of people opening fire in Dak Lak province has caused a lot of pain. People in Dak Lak, the Central Highlands and the whole country in general are outraged by this action. According to shares on social networking sites, it can be seen that many people in Dak Lak province have joined the authorities in capturing the criminals. Not only that, people also cook rice and provide food to support police officers and soldiers. What do these actions show, Lieutenant General?
