Quality seed structure, reasonable time frame
Up to now, farmers in Ha Tinh have basically harvested nearly 100% of the 2025 spring rice area. According to the assessment of the industry, although some localities such as Ky Anh, Cam Xuyen, Huong Khe districts, Ha Tinh city... were affected by unusual rainy and flood weather, the whole province still achieved positive results. The average yield of the whole province reached 61.72 quintals/ha, an increase of 0.54 quintals/ha compared to 2024; the total output exceeded 365,800 tons.

This achievement is the result of a combination of many factors implemented synchronously from the beginning of the season. The selection of varieties was closely and methodically directed, using varieties with high yield, good quality, and adaptability to ecological and soil conditions.
In Nghi Xuan district, this year's spring crop recorded an average yield of 57.5 quintals/ha, the highest level ever. Previously, farmers mainly planted low-quality varieties such as N24, Xi23, XT28... but now they have boldly switched to high-quality varieties such as Bac Thinh, Nep 98, VNR20... According to Mr. Le Anh Duc - Deputy Head of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Nghi Xuan district, replacing old varieties with new varieties that are more suitable for soil conditions, climate and cultivation techniques has helped improve rice grain quality and production efficiency.

Along with that, planting at the right time frame, synchronizing between regions, helped the rice plants bloom from April 25 to May 5 - a time when the weather was favorable, with few pests and diseases, creating conditions for high productivity.
Mr. Nguyen Tong Phong - Deputy Head of the Department of Crop Production and Livestock (Department of Agriculture and Rural Development) said: “With the strong attention and direction of the Provincial People's Committee, specialized agencies and local authorities, farmers have carried out planting according to the crop schedule, complied with the seed structure and technical process, creating favorable conditions for rice to grow and develop well, which is a prerequisite for spring rice to achieve high productivity. The implementation of concentrated and simultaneous planting also facilitates care, water regulation and pest control. Pests and diseases on rice are controlled promptly, especially rice blast disease, contributing to protecting production safety".

Land accumulation - formation of commodity production areas
On a field of more than 30 hectares in Nam Yen village (Nam Phuc Thang commune, Cam Xuyen), farmers happily welcomed the "double" joy of a good harvest and good prices.
Mr. Phan Dang Nhi (Nam Yen village) shared: “This is the first crop we have produced on a concentrated field after converting the land, mainly planting Khang Dan 18 variety, with a yield of 6.5 tons/ha, the highest ever. Harvesting and transportation took place smoothly and quickly.”

According to Mr. Le Ngoc Ha - Vice Chairman of Cam Xuyen District People's Committee, in areas where land concentration and accumulation have been implemented, the district focuses on directing the production of "one variety, one season, one technical process".
At the same time, the locality focuses on promoting links between people and businesses to stabilize output, increase product value and improve income. Thanks to concentrated production and widespread mechanization, water regulation is also more proactive, contributing to shortening production time and reducing input costs.

Currently, the process of land conversion and accumulation in Ha Tinh is entering a new phase, not only expanding the scale but also associated with innovation in production methods, application of science and technology and orientation of commodity production. Many production models linked to the value chain have been formed such as the organic rice model combined with earthworm farming in Duc Tho district; organic rice production in Ky Phu commune (Ky Anh district); high-quality rice model at Ha Vang Agricultural Service and Trade Cooperative meeting 3-star OCOP standards (Can Loc); concentrated rice production at Dong Tien Agricultural Cooperative (Dong Mon ward, Ha Tinh city);...
Mr. Nguyen Van Chien - Director of Thong Nhat - Xuan Lam Agricultural Cooperative (Xuan Lam Commune, Nghi Xuan) said: "Land conversion has helped the Cooperative expand production, making it easier to cooperate with businesses. In the spring crop of 2025, the Cooperative will coordinate with Que Lam Group Joint Stock Company to deploy an organic rice model on an area of 12 hectares in the concentrated production area, using the short-term DT39 variety, which has good cold resistance."

Up to now, 10/12 districts and cities in the province have implemented land accumulation and concentration with a total area of over 10,120 hectares, reaching 67.47% of the plan according to Resolution No. 06-NQ/TU on leadership and direction of land accumulation and concentration associated with new rural construction in the period of 2021-2025 and the following years.
Of which, more than 320 hectares are accumulated through the form of leasing or transferring land use rights, helping individuals, cooperatives and businesses boldly invest in large-scale, modern production.

Mr. Tran Huu Khanh - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Ha Tinh province affirmed: "Spring rice production in 2025 continues to be successful, with high rice productivity. This result is thanks to the initiative of authorities at all levels and the high sense of responsibility of people in complying with the crop calendar, variety structure, and applying technical care processes.
A notable highlight is that the accumulation and concentration of land has been promoted, creating a favorable foundation for the application of mechanization and scientific and technological advances in production; thanks to that, large-scale commodity production areas have been formed, helping to improve the uniformity and commercial value of products. The success of this production season has created a positive atmosphere for people in the whole province to enter the summer-autumn crop with high spirits and determination; at the same time, it has made an important contribution to helping the agricultural sector strive to achieve the growth target of 2.8% in 2025".
In the 2025 spring rice crop, the total cultivated area in the province is estimated at over 59,276 hectares. The yield is estimated at 61.72 quintals/ha, an increase of 0.54 quintals/ha compared to the 2024 spring crop, the highest in the past 5 years. Rice output is estimated at over 365,800 tons, an increase of 2,954 tons over the same period last year.
Along with that, the selling price of fresh rice is quite high, ensuring farmers make a profit in production, with the purchase price at the field ranging from 5,400 - 6,900 VND/kg depending on the variety and quality. Ha Tinh farmers enter the summer-autumn production season with many new motivations, continuing to develop agriculture in a sustainable direction, contributing to ensuring food safety and security.
