In a solemn but warm atmosphere of brotherhood on the occasion of the National Day of the Lao PDR, the Permanent Representative Delegation of Vietnam in Geneva came to congratulate the Lao Delegation. The meeting was not only a diplomatic ceremony, but also an opportunity for comrades and brothers to share common joys and personal concerns, affirming the "unique" relationship in the world.

On the occasion of the great anniversary of Laos, the representative of the Vietnamese Delegation, Cung Duc Han, sent his warmest congratulations on the great achievements that the Lao Party, State and people have achieved. The representative of Vietnam congratulated the Lao PDR for all the victories it has achieved throughout the past. These are extremely meaningful achievements in the past cause of national liberation as well as the cause of national construction and development today.

Reiterating the teachings of Lao President Kaysone Phomvihane, the representative of the Lao Delegation, Ambassador Daovy Vongxay, affirmed: “There is no friendship and relationship in the world as special and unique as the solidarity between Laos and Vietnam”. Lao Ambassador Daovy Vongxay said that the current generation bears the responsibility of continuing the tradition. According to him, the important thing is to help the young generation understand the common history of struggle and the difficulties that the two nations and generations of leaders have gone through for decades to gain independence.

The atmosphere of the meeting became more intimate when the official ceremonies ended, giving way to everyday stories over a traditional meal.

The meeting between the Vietnamese and Lao Delegations in Geneva affirmed that no matter where in the world, the Vietnam-Laos relationship is always kept pure and strong, especially nurtured and passed down through many generations.
