Chairman of the People's Committee of Cu Chi Commune, Pham Kieu Hung, said that the thunderstorm at noon on July 20 broke and uprooted 10 trees, including 3 trees blocking the road; causing damage to the roofs of 13 households in the hamlets of Giong Sao, Lang Cat, Xom Dong, Thuong, Trung and Tram Bom. Of these, 2 households in difficult circumstances were supported with 5 million VND each from socialized sources.
After the incident, the People's Committee of Cu Chi commune mobilized the militia, police, and departments, branches, and mass organizations of the commune and hamlet to support households in overcoming the consequences, temporarily covering the roofs of houses that had been blown off; clearing broken and fallen trees to ensure traffic on the roads. At the same time, the Cu Chi Electricity Company coordinated with the Cu Chi Electricity Company to ensure electrical safety and warn people not to go near dangerous areas.

The commune also inspected and made preliminary statistics of the damage, provided initial support to affected households and distributed materials such as tarpaulins, corrugated iron, nails, etc. for people to temporarily repair their roofs. In the coming time, the commune will review trees at risk of falling and degraded roofs to take measures to handle and reinforce them. At the same time, it will promote people to proactively reinforce their houses to limit damage during the rainy and stormy season.
