Previously, at about 3:10 p.m. on May 4, Nguyen Thi D. (born in 1988, residing in Hoa Phat hamlet) drove a motorbike with license plate 67B1-603.69, worth about 6 million VND, to a coffee shop that also sells groceries near her house to buy things. While entering the shop to buy things, D. parked the motorbike outside and still had the key on the motorbike. At this time, Nguyen The Len (born in 1973, residing in Phu Vinh commune, Tan Chau town) was lying in a hammock drinking coffee at the place where Ms. Diem stopped to buy things. Seeing that the motorbike still had the key and Ms. D.'s lack of vigilance and not keeping an eye on the motorbike, Len stole the motorbike.

While starting the car and running away, Len was discovered by Ms. D. who shouted and called the Phu Hiep Commune Police. Upon receiving the victim's report, the Phu Hiep Commune Police quickly deployed forces to coordinate with local people to chase and arrest Len along with the evidence in Hoa Loi Hamlet (Phu Hiep Commune).
