Watch clip:
On January 14, Highway Traffic Control Patrol Team No. 7 (Department 8, Traffic Police Department) verified a clip recording a car driving in the wrong direction on My Thuan - Can Tho Highway.
Previously, this clip was spread on social networks. The person who posted the clip said that the incident happened at around 8:30 am on the same day. At that time, the car driver (the person who posted the clip) was going in the right direction on the My Thuan - Can Tho highway, near the overpass at the intersection with Provincial Road 908 (Binh Tan district, Vinh Long province) when he suddenly saw a red car going in the opposite direction in the lane near the median strip and flashing its headlights continuously.
The driver quickly reduced speed and swerved into the inside lane to avoid the accident. The clip after being posted made many people angry, because the above behavior could have caused a serious traffic accident.
Previously, Road Traffic Control Patrol Team No. 7 had issued a fine to driver NHGB (37 years old, residing in An Giang ) for two acts: "Driving a vehicle at a speed exceeding the prescribed speed limit by more than 35km/h" and "Having a driver's license that has expired for 3 months or more".
Accordingly, driver G. drove the car on the My Thuan - Can Tho highway, at a very high speed, sometimes up to 210km/h. The driver drove the car at night, passing many vehicles traveling in the same direction.
My Thuan – Can Tho Expressway and My Thuan 2 Bridge were inaugurated on December 24, 2023, passing through Vinh Long and Dong Thap provinces; the starting point is in Tan Hoa ward, Vinh Long city, connecting with My Thuan 2 bridge; the end point is in Binh Minh town, connecting with National Highway 1.
