According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tam, General Director of Viet An Group Corporation, there is a lot of potential for eco -tourism along the Cam Le River associated with craft villages. Therefore, the company plans to form a tourism product called "Green River, Ancient Craft Village". This is a type of eco-tourism associated with local craft villages; a tour without noise or emissions, aiming at a green, sustainable tourism model - "Net Zero". Specifically, this tourist route is designed with two main means of transport: electric cars for roads and tourist boats for waterways, departing from the Han River port and following the Cam Le River for nearly 10km.
Tourists will visit La Huong vegetable garden, experience being a farmer, visit Phong Le Cham archaeological site, Lo Giang communal house, Tam Giang Holy Temple, relax at the camping site along Cam Le river, paddle Sup, fish, watch the sunset or visit facilities producing incense, sesame crackers, rattan and bamboo...
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tam said that this tour is not only a sightseeing trip but also a combination of heritage conservation and sustainable livelihood development. “We want to create a vibrant space where traditional cultural values are recreated with modern thinking and technology, becoming a truly in-depth tourism product.
Specifically, La Huong vegetable village will become an ecological agricultural destination, where visitors can experience growing vegetables and harvesting like a real farmer. Or the Phong Le Cham relic site will be upgraded to a center for introducing Cham Pa heritage, combined with demonstrations of ancient pottery. In addition, OCOP products such as sesame crackers, incense, bamboo and rattan weaving, etc. will be both tourist attractions and typical products to promote the local economy . Thereby, Cam Le people will have more jobs, increase their income, raise awareness of preserving craft village culture and improve their quality of life," Mr. Tam shared.
However, besides the available potential, one of the major difficulties at present is that Cam Le district does not have an official inland waterway port. Therefore, Viet An Group Corporation proposed to plan a 16-hectare land plot along the river, in Hoa Xuan ward, to invest in building an inland waterway port to serve the pick-up and drop-off of tourists.
At the same time, it is proposed to build a cultural and culinary park complex with the theme of “Ancient Craft Village”, recreating traditional spaces such as: rice farming, cake making, bamboo weaving, incense making, etc. In addition, the park will have a rural market space, folk performances, regional cuisine area and water play. Essential infrastructure items such as wharf, electric car parking lot, toilets, outdoor stage, reception house, etc. are also proposed to be invested synchronously, to ensure the quality of experience and attract tourists.
According to tourism professionals, the Cam Le River is very beautiful but has not been exploited. If the project "Green River, Ancient Craft Village" is implemented, it will contribute to attracting visitors from the city center to this area, partly reducing pressure on infrastructure and the environment in currently crowded areas such as Son Tra, Ngu Hanh Son, etc.
It is known that in preparation for the project, at the end of March 2025, Viet AnGroup Corporation worked with the leaders of Cam Le district on the idea of developing this tourist route. The district leaders highly appreciated the tourism product idea of the enterprise, and at the same time believed that this product is suitable for the development orientation of trade and services of the district. If invested, it will create a main tourism product associated with the Cam Le river, promoting the values of the locality.
Tourism professionals believe that if the “Green River, Ancient Craft Village” project is implemented, it will become a new highlight on the eco-cultural tourism map of Da Nang, contributing to preserving local identity and developing the local economy in a sustainable direction, in harmony with the environment.
