Entering the reading room of Regiment 6, it is not difficult to see officers and soldiers attentively reading books and newspapers. With the characteristics of being the main unit of the province carrying out training, combat readiness and unexpected missions, everyone takes the opportunity to read books, newspapers and documents mainly during breaks, days off, and breaks on the training ground.
In order to promote the movement of reading books and newspapers, the Party Committee and Commander of Regiment 6 always pay attention to, promptly orient, foster skills and form reading habits, contributing to helping soldiers improve their awareness and understanding of various fields.
Private Hoang Minh Tu, Company 3, Battalion 1, Regiment 6 confided that reading books or reading newspapers helps him grasp many things in life as well as understand more about human relationships and how to treat others. Reading books also trains soldiers to be patient and gain many life experiences left by previous generations.
Lieutenant Colonel Ta Van Tu, Party Secretary and Political Commissar of Regiment 6, said that in recent times, the Party Committee and Regiment Commander have directed the Ho Chi Minh Room groups and teams to actively operate, especially the book and newspaper activity group and the propaganda and agitation group. Through the book and newspaper activity group, a specific and detailed plan has been developed for units to take turns during holidays and breaks to organize reading of books and newspapers at the Ho Chi Minh Room. At the same time, the propaganda and agitation group has been promoted to introduce good books praising the Party, beloved Uncle Ho, and national liberation heroes; thereby raising awareness and sense of responsibility in building agencies and units for soldiers.
Currently, the Ho Chi Minh Department has hundreds of books of all kinds and is constantly supplemented to meet the research and learning needs of officers and soldiers. To help soldiers have more channels for research and information collection, Battalion 1, Regiment 6 also built a model of a training ground newspaper box. Taking advantage of breaks between training courses, officers and soldiers come together to learn and update news through newspapers. This is an effective training ground encouragement activity, helping soldiers enhance their internal solidarity, unit solidarity, political awareness and correct motivation to strive, ready to receive and complete assigned tasks well.
Private Nguyen Dinh Thi, Company 2, Battalion 1, Regiment 6 shared: “Reading books and newspapers outside the training ground helps us relieve stress and fatigue after hours of training. Through books and newspapers, each soldier will accumulate more knowledge and enrich their spiritual life, raise their sense of discipline, and help avoid social evils outside.”
According to Major Nguyen Van Minh, Party Secretary, Political Commissar of Battalion 1, Regiment 6, books and newspapers have an important position and role in improving knowledge, skills, developing thinking,educating and training human personality. From there, it helps officers and soldiers, especially new soldiers, develop logical and creative thinking, enhance communication skills and understand each other better; creating a healthy and cultural living environment. Battalion 1 always cares about leadership, direction as well as investing in purchasing equipment, books and newspapers to serve officers and soldiers.
