Building Phu My Dong commune to develop rapidly and sustainably, becoming a key economic commune in the northeastern sub-region of the province.

(gialai.gov.vn) - On the morning of August 15, the Phu My Dong Commune Party Committee successfully held its first Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term. This is an important political event, marking a period of extensive political activities in the entire Party Committee and People of the commune. The Congress is tasked with assessing the implementation results of the Resolution of the Party Congresses of My An, My Tho and My Thang communes for the 2020-2025 term, and at the same time setting out goals, directions and solutions for socio-economic development for the 2025-2030 term.

Attending the congress were comrade Nguyen Tuan Thanh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee. Also attending the congress were representatives of the agencies advising and assisting the Provincial Party Committee; former leaders of Phu My district (old) through the periods and 180 delegates representing 1,176 party members in the entire Party Committee.

Phu My Dong Commune was established on the basis of merging the natural area and population of three communes: My An, My Tho and My Thang. During the 2020-2025 term, the implementation of the Party Congress Resolution of the three communes has achieved many important results in various fields.

Most of the socio-economic targets have been achieved and exceeded the targets set out in the Resolution. The economy continues to maintain a fairly high growth rate. The socio-economic infrastructure system has been invested in and built, basically meeting the requirements of sustainable development. Cultural and social activities have made much progress; social security has been ensured; the material and spiritual life of the people has been increasingly improved. National defense has been firmly consolidated, political security has been stable, and social order and safety have been basically maintained.

The work of building the Party and the political system has achieved many positive results, creating a solid foundation for the comprehensive development of the commune in the coming period.

In the 2025-2030 term, Phu My Dong commune sets a target of GRDP growth rate of 49.9%; by 2030, total budget revenue will reach over 28.4 billion VND, total retail sales of goods and service revenue will reach 5,179 billion VND; each year, attract at least 01 new project. Strive to achieve advanced new rural standards by 2030. In the field of culture and society, the target is for 100% of schools to meet national standards; the rate of people participating in health insurance will reach 94% or more; the rate of multidimensional poverty will decrease to 0.33%. Regarding Party building, every year, over 90% of grassroots party organizations complete their tasks well; the rate of new party members will reach over 3% of the total number of party members.

To complete the goals and targets set for the 2025-2030 term, Phu My Dong commune has concretized them into 4 key task groups and 4 breakthroughs. In particular, the focus is on strongly developing the processing and manufacturing industry, becoming a pillar of the local economy . At the same time, the commune focuses on promoting the application of science and technology to modernize and increase production value. In addition, the commune will increase support for attracting investment, developing seaport and logistics services; at the same time, improve the quality of the staff and civil servants, ensuring to meet the requirements of the tasks in the new period.

To complete and exceed the set targets and tasks, Phu My Dong Commune needs to focus on implementing 06 key groups of tasks.

Firstly, quickly stabilize the organization, build solidarity and unity in the entire Party, the entire people and the entire army. The Party Executive Committee of the commune for the new term needs to focus on leadership and direction to thoroughly disseminate to all cadres, party members and people the correct policies of the Party, policies and laws of the State on the arrangement of administrative units at all levels, and the organization of a 2-level local government model.

Improving the leadership capacity and fighting strength of grassroots Party organizations and the contingent of cadres and Party members. Third, the new Party Committee needs to urgently concretize the congress resolution into specific action plans and programs that are close to the actual situation, with the motto "6 clear: clear people, clear work, clear time, clear responsibility, clear products, clear authority", the spirit of "speed", "no retreat, only action", "think deeply, do big" to be determined to achieve the set goals, especially building Phu My Dong commune to develop quickly and sustainably, becoming a key economic commune in the northeastern sub-region of the province, with a growth rate higher than the average of the province.

Along with that, focus on leadership, direction, and management in a close, drastic, and breakthrough manner, giving maximum priority to promoting economic growth. The focus is on developing the industry associated with Phu My Industrial Park, especially the processing and manufacturing industry to become the pillar of the economy; continue to attract investment, develop the renewable energy industry; support the formation of the Renewable Energy Human Resources Training Center project. Focus on compensation and resettlement, serving the rapid implementation of Phu My Industrial Park and Port Area. Develop agriculture and aquaculture based on high technology, organic agriculture, clean agriculture, shifting from quantity to quality; focus on applying science and technology to modernize and increase the value of agricultural production. Promote the development of services and tourism based on the advantages of marine space, combined with the conservation of natural landscape values and biodiversity in Tra O Lagoon area; Forming and developing commercial and service activities associated with Phu My Industrial Park and Port Area.

Deploy review, supplement and update the commune's master plan to exploit the maximum potential and advantages of the locality. Continue to invest and complete the synchronous socio-economic infrastructure, especially transport infrastructure, service infrastructure - tourism, culture - society, information technology. Strictly manage, exploit and effectively use land resources to attract investment, promote sustainable urbanization. Pay attention to environmental protection, effectively adapt to climate change.

The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee noted that Phu My Dong commune should focus on implementing 04 breakthrough resolutions of the "Quad Pillars" of the Politburo, including: Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on breakthrough in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation; Resolution No. 59-NQ/TW on international integration in the new situation; Resolution No. 66-NQ/TW on innovation in law-making and enforcement to meet the requirements of national development in the new era; Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW on private economic development.
