According to initial information, at around 1:00 p.m. on May 4, a tractor with license plate 90C pulling a trailer with license plate 90R was traveling on the Bai Vot - Ham Nghi expressway from South to North.

When reaching the section passing through Kim Song Truong commune (Can Loc district, Ha Tinh province), the tractor driver braked suddenly.

At this time, the front of the tractor trailer lightly hit the right guardrail, causing the vehicle to block two lanes about 8.5 meters wide.

Many vehicles were stuck in traffic

The incident caused traffic on the Bai Vot - Ham Nghi expressway from South to North to be unable to move, causing a prolonged traffic jam.

Upon receiving the news, the authorities arrived at the scene to handle the incident, direct traffic, and guide vehicles to slow down or move into the intersection, exit onto Highway 1 and other routes.

By nearly 3:00 p.m. the same day, traffic on the Bai Vot - Ham Nghi expressway from South to North was reopened.

The cause of the incident is currently under investigation.
