Plum truck falls into 50m deep abyss, 3 people injured

On the morning of May 28, responding to VTC News reporters, a representative of the People's Committee of Tong Sanh commune, Bat Xat district, Lao Cai province confirmed that a traffic accident had just occurred in the area, injuring 3 people.

According to this leader, the accident occurred at 2:30 a.m. the same day at the foot of the concrete bridge (km7+680), in Tong Sanh 1 village.

At the above time, the truck carrying goods with license plate 26C - 085.54 was on the road connecting Noi Bai - Lao Cai highway to Sa Pa (provincial road 155), from Sa Pa to Lao Cai city.

When reaching the concrete bridge (km7+680), in Tong Sanh 1 village, the truck flipped over the bridge and fell into a deep abyss about 50m.

The accident injured 3 people in the car including: LVH (born in 1991, residing in He village, Chieng Khoang commune, Quynh Nhai district, Son La province), LVT and LT.

At the scene, the truck was badly damaged, the front of the vehicle was crushed. It is known that the truck that overturned into the abyss was carrying plums from Sa Pa to Lao Cai City.

Traffic police joined the rescue and took the victim to the hospital for emergency treatment.

Immediately after receiving the news, officers and soldiers of the Traffic Police Department were present in time to direct traffic, protect the scene and coordinate with the Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Department (Lao Cai Provincial Police) and other units to organize rescue, first aid, and take the victims to the hospital for emergency treatment.

Authorities are currently examining the scene to investigate the cause of the accident.
