People are angry

The DH6 traffic route from An Lac village cultural house (Duy Thanh commune) to Binh Giang commune (Thang Binh) is more than 1.2km long and 7.5m wide and was invested in and built by relevant sectors many years ago.

However, since the Lunar New Year 2025, a series of trucks carrying soil and rock with signs of exceeding the load capacity have been continuously running on this route, causing the concrete road surface to be crushed, bumpy, and full of potholes, making it difficult to travel.

According to the people of An Lac village, vehicles with a load capacity of 20-30 tons often travel early in the morning, late at night or when there are few people passing by.

Mr. Phan Minh Hoi in An Lac village said: “For many months now, heavy trucks have been running continuously, causing the roads to collapse, posing a danger to road users. I hope that the authorities will pay attention, intervene quickly, and fix the damage to the road surface.”

The damage caused by heavy trucks on the road has made people very indignant. It is worth mentioning that many traffic accidents have occurred. For example, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Thu in An Lac village fell and fractured her arm while trying to avoid a pothole.

“I was on route DH6 through Binh Giang commune when I had an accident. Until now, my arm has not fully healed,” said Ms. Thu.

Traffic insecurity, dust pollution, and noise caused by heavy trucks have greatly affected the lives of hundreds of households.

What do local leaders say?

Mr. Huynh Tan Sau - Secretary of the Party Cell of An Lac village said that at meetings or meetings with voters, local people have made many recommendations on this issue. People requested relevant agencies to take immediate action and strictly handle the situation of heavy trucks carrying construction materials destroying roads and causing traffic safety problems, but the results have not been as expected.

"On Route DH6, there are many trucks traveling, and people have petitioned the commune, district, and province. We hope that the government will soon invest in upgrading and expanding this route to ensure travel and the circulation of goods, while contributing to limiting traffic accidents," Mr. Sau added.

According to Mr. Do Van Viet - Chairman of Duy Thanh Commune People's Committee, previously the residential road from An Lac village cultural house (Duy Thanh commune) to Binh Giang commune (Thang Binh) was invested and built with the method of "State and people working together". Later, this road was upgraded to route DH6.

"Upon receiving information from An Lac villagers about heavy trucks carrying construction materials causing damage to roads, the local government went to inspect the situation and recommended to competent authorities to strictly handle the situation according to the law. At the same time, they will promptly repair and temporarily handle severely damaged areas so that people can travel with peace of mind," said Mr. Viet.
