Hai Yen is the captain of the Vietnamese women's team at ASIAD 19, promising to shine against Nepal in the opening match.
In the most recent encounter in April, coach Mai Duc Chung's students easily defeated Nepal 5-1 in the first leg and 2-0 in the second leg. This time, although the Vietnamese women's team did not have number 1 striker Huynh Nhu because she was busy playing for Lank Club (Portugal), they were still rated much higher than their opponents. Hai Yen, Thanh Nha, Bich Thuy, Tuyet Dung were expected to shine, demonstrating the class of the team that just participated in the World Cup.

Speaking before the match with Nepal, midfielder Duong Thi Van said that she and her teammates have an understanding of the opponent but also need to strictly follow the tactical instructions of the coaching staff to get the best results.
Coach Mai Duc Chung also assessed that the Nepalese players have good physical strength, the important thing is that the Vietnamese players must play with full concentration, not be subjective and underestimate the opponent. The goal of the Vietnamese women's team is to try to win each match to go as far as possible at the 19th ASIAD.
