Xiaomi is not just a new car manufacturer, but they have set a big goal: to become one of the top 5 car companies in the world in the next 15-20 years. This is a big challenge, but with their vision and influence, Xiaomi has affirmed that they are not just making cars, but creating a new journey in the global car industry.
The SU7 not only attracts attention for its impressive exterior, but also for its combination of performance and classy design. The model is called the Xiaomi SU7, where SU stands for Speed Ultra, which the company says means it is a performance monster.
With an exterior design reminiscent of Porsche models, the SU7 beats the expectations of the Xiaomi design team's optimization. Xiaomi President Lei Jun confidently asserted that they are aiming for a car with quality that is not inferior to Porsche or Tesla.
More than just a design statement, the SU7 is a performance icon. With its powerful dual motors, the car can reach 100 km/h in just 2.78 seconds, faster than the Porsche Taycan Turbo. Its top speed of 265 km/h puts it in a league of its own compared to its rivals.
The dual-motor version of the Xiaomi SU7 is equipped with an electric motor with a maximum combined power of 673 PS, a maximum power of 495 kW and a maximum torque of 838 Nm. Lei Hun said the powertrain allows the SU7 to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.78 seconds, faster than the Porsche Taycan Turbo's 2.93 seconds.
The car uses CATL's Qilin battery with a capacity of 101 kWh, which is capable of fast charging. Xiaomi confidently claims that the SU7 can reach a range of 220 km after 5 minutes of charging and 510 km after 15 minutes of charging. This puts it at the forefront of the energy and utility sector.
Although the SU7 is intended for the mass market electric vehicle, Lei still compares it to luxury models like the Porsche Taycan Turbo and Tesla Model S. Perhaps, Xiaomi is showing great ambition and determination towards its lofty goal.
With this car, Xiaomi is not only expanding its business engine but also proving that it can beat the big players in the automobile sector. The huge investment and innovation in energy and vehicle manufacturing puts Xiaomi in the global electric car race.
