Vietnamese Circus Wins Big at International Circus Festival

Artists of the Vietnam Circus Federation won the Gold Medal at the 3rd International Circus Festival in Almaty City, Kazakhstan, and were also awarded a Special Prize at the IDOL 2025 World Circus Arts Festival.

On July 28, People's Artist Tong Toan Thang, Director of the Vietnam Circus Federation, said that Vietnamese artists participated in the 3rd International Circus Festival in Almaty City, Kazakhstan from July 23 to 26. The festival had the participation of 160 artists from 15 countries with 28 performances. The Vietnam Circus Federation participated in the performance "Male and female double rope swing" - "Duo Love". This performance was performed by the couple Meritorious Artist Thanh Tuan and Thu Huong, and excellently surpassed many performances from countries with very high standards such as Russia, China, Ukraine, Argentina to win the Gold Prize.

Artists of the Vietnam Circus Federation won the Gold Prize at the 3rd International Circus Festival.

At the festival, the Organizing Committee also awarded the Granfix award to Kazakhstan’s “Climbing Pillar” – a record-breaking act with a three-person ladder-climbing pillar on the forehead. Two other Gold awards were given to Russia’s “Collective Rope Swing” and the Ukrainian artist couple’s “Male and Female Leather Strap”. There were also three Silver and three Bronze awards.

People's Artist Tong Toan Thang also said that after winning the Gold Award, the artists of the Vietnam Circus Federation were invited to stay and perform in celebration of the 55th anniversary of the founding of Almaty City. However, the artists still have plans to perform key programs on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day on September 2, so they had to apologize to their friends. Currently, the artists are preparing to return to Vietnam to continue performing for domestic audiences.

Previously, the Vietnam Circus Federation participated in the IDOL 2025 World Circus Festival in the Russian Federation from July 17 to 20. The festival had the participation of artists from 15 countries. Vietnamese artists participated in the performance "Sun Swing". This performance was performed by 4 actresses: Meritorious Artist Lo Ngoc Thuy, Pham Huong, Luu Huong, Hong Thuy. The performance "Sun Swing" was awarded a Special Prize and was then invited to tour again at the Circus on Lenin Hill - the cradle of professional circus and the most modern circus in the Russian Federation.
