Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha inspects the progress of Long Thanh airport project
Speaking at the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that Long Thanh airport is a project of great significance for the country's socio -economic development goals, a symbol affirming Vietnam's rise.
The Deputy Prime Minister requested ACV and contractors to speed up the progress but still ensure the quality of the project. Fire prevention and fighting must be strict and rigorous according to the highest standards and fully assess the impact of environmental pollution...
Project management boards, contractors, consultants and supervisors must point out existing problems that may pose risks and affect the progress and quality of the project in order to have proactive contingency plans.
Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha is determined to deal with weak, incompetent, and irresponsible contractors and supervisory consultants.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, if a component item is behind schedule, it will affect the entire project. "Any contractor or supervisory consultant who is weak, incompetent, lax, or irresponsible and affects the project's progress must be strictly dealt with," the Deputy Prime Minister firmly stated.
Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha also requested state management agencies, investors, and contractors to launch a competition movement at Long Thanh airport. Units that perform well must be commended and rewarded promptly, and weak units must be resolutely dealt with to maintain discipline.
Reporting at the meeting, ACV leaders said that up to now, 100% of the cleared site for phase 1 has been handed over for construction. The Long Thanh airport ground leveling and drainage package has now reached about 90% of the workload.
ACV has also transferred to the Long Thanh District Land Fund Development Center (Dong Nai) more than VND 950 billion to serve the compensation and site clearance work for 2 routes connecting Long Thanh airport (T1, T2).
Contractors are concentrating human resources and machinery on the construction of the passenger terminal.
For the passenger terminal construction package (the most important and complicated item in phase 1), contractors have mobilized more than 300 pieces of equipment, machinery and materials for construction. Although affected by heavy rain, contractors have basically ensured progress according to the plan after more than a month of construction.
The airport infrastructure package includes runways, taxiways, aircraft parking lots (cargo terminals...) and other works that are also being urgently constructed by contractors.
