(Chinhphu.vn) - Implementing the Prime Minister's Telegrams and Directives on launching a peak period to fight against smuggling and counterfeit goods, the Department of Traditional Medicine Management requests localities to continue to strengthen inspections and strictly handle organizations and individuals who violate the law.

Specifically, through recent inspections, the Department of Traditional Medicine Management has discovered a number of problems related to counterfeit goods in this field. Therefore, the Department recommends that the Department of Health of provinces and cities continue to strengthen inspections, checks, and strictly handle organizations and individuals involved in the production and trade of medicinal herbs, traditional medicines, and fake traditional medicines, to push back smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and infringement of intellectual property rights.

Focus on reviewing, inspecting, and examining facilities in the area regarding the practice of traditional medicine practitioners, people with traditional medicine recipes, or people with traditional treatment methods, focusing on the scope of professional activities of traditional medicine clinics and traditional medicine treatment rooms in the area.

Strictly handle according to the provisions of law establishments producing and trading medicinal herbs, traditional medicines, traditional medicines, traditional medical examination and treatment facilities that violate the law, advertise without an advertising license or advertise beyond the content approved by the competent authority; advertise falsely, exaggerate the effects of health-related products on social networking platforms.

The Department of Traditional Medicine Management also requested the Department of Health of provinces and cities to synthesize and report on the implementation process of rectifying medical examination and treatment, inspection and examination of facilities in the area under their management in the field of traditional medicine and pharmacy in the first 6 months of 2025.

The inspection contents include: the development of a plan to implement the peak month of fighting against and repelling smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and infringement of intellectual property rights in the field of traditional medicine and pharmacy; the number of establishments inspected for production, trade, and business of medicinal herbs, traditional medicines, traditional medicines, medical examination and treatment using traditional medicine and pharmacy within the scope of the field of traditional medicine and pharmacy and the established management area...

The Department of Traditional Medicine Management requests the Department of Health of provinces and cities to urgently implement and report the implementation results to the Ministry of Health before June 30, 2025.

Nationwide recall of Nakids lice shampoo

The Drug Administration of Vietnam, Ministry of Health has just decided to suspend circulation, recall and destroy the entire batch of Nakids herbal shampoo to clean lice, box of 1 bottle of 100ml. The label states: Receipt number of announcement form 62/17/CBMP-HY; batch number: 082024; production date: August 26, 2024; expiration date: August 25, 2027.

This product is marketed and manufactured by Quang Xanh Pharmaceutical and Cosmetic Company Limited, located in Hanh Lac village, Nhu Quynh town, Van Lam district, Hung Yen province, and distributed by Dang Nhi Pharmaceutical Company Limited (Thai Nguyen).

Previously, the Center for Drug, Cosmetic and Food Testing of the Hue City Department of Health inspected the quality of this product at Manh Ty 32 Pharmacy (Thuan Hoa District, Hue) and discovered that the shampoo sample did not meet the requirements for microbial limits.

The Drug Administration also requested local Health Departments to notify businesses and cosmetic users to stop trading and using the products and return them to suppliers; organize recalls and destruction, and monitor and handle violations in accordance with legal regulations.

Quang Xanh Company and Dang Nhi Company must send recall notices to all distribution and usage establishments; receive recalled products, destroy all batches of unqualified products, and send recall and destruction reports to the Department of Drug Administration before July 16, 2025.
