Company in Ho Chi Minh City fined for using expired raw materials to produce protein powder

On May 14, the Department of Food Safety (FS) of Ho Chi Minh City said it had advised the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to issue a decision to administratively sanction GodwayPharma Company Limited.

Authorities determined that at the time of inspection, GodwayPharma Company Limited (147 Bui Cong Trung, Nhi Binh Commune, Hoc Mon District) used expired natural chocolate-flavored Prozymax protein powder to produce 2 protein powder products.

Including natural chocolate-flavored protein powder product P1 (product self-declaration No. 01/GodwayPharma/2024) and natural chocolate-flavored protein powder pHSP (product self-declaration No. 02/GodwayPharma/2024). The total value of the infringing products is 1,944 billion VND.

The Food Safety Department inspectors discovered 49 boxes of natural chocolate-flavored protein powder products, equivalent to 588 kg; 59 boxes of pHSP natural chocolate-flavored protein powder products, equivalent to 708 kg. At the same time, they discovered 3,804 kg of expired Prozymax natural chocolate-flavored protein powder ingredients in inventory.

The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has issued a decision to administratively sanction GodwayPharma Company Limited, chaired by Mr. Vo Xuan Hoang, for using expired or unexpired raw materials that are required to have an expiration date.

The total fine is 2,916 billion VND. At the same time, all violating raw materials and foods must be destroyed.
