Xuan Son celebrates New Year's Eve with neighbors, the whole family takes pictures in colorful Tet ao dai

On the evening of the 29th of Tet, before welcoming the New Year of the Snake, soccer player Xuan Son and his wife went out to socialize with neighbors in the neighborhood.

Seeing the Brazilian striker, the neighbors were happy and gave him warm handshakes. Although he had difficulty walking, the male player still enthusiastically talked and signed autographs for fans.

Ms. Huyen (a neighbor of Xuan Son's family ) said that this is the second year this player celebrates Lunar New Year with the people in the neighborhood.

"On New Year's Eve, people in the neighborhood contribute whatever they have, gather in the common yard to light a fire, celebrate, and raise a glass to welcome the new year. Even when he was not famous or now that he is well-known, Xuan Son is always friendly with his neighbors, often greeting them. His wife also prepares lucky money for the children," said Ms. Huyen.

Present with everyone to celebrate New Year's Eve, Ms. Hoa (a neighbor of Xuan Son's family) asked about the health of the young man born in 1997. The male player chatted with everyone for 15 minutes and then returned home.

"Xuan Son wished the fans a happy new year, took pictures and signed autographs for many fans. The New Year's Eve atmosphere was much more exciting with the presence of the male player," said Ms. Hoa.

It is known that the player of Nam Dinh Steel Club gave his neighbors 10 fireworks displays to welcome the new year.

Taking photos in Ao Dai to celebrate Tet

On New Year's Eve, Marcele Seippel - Xuan Son's wife - posted on her personal page a series of photos of the whole family wearing red ao dai to celebrate Tet.

The images received a lot of interaction from fans. The audience sent their best wishes and hoped that the striker of the Vietnamese team would soon return to the field.

Previously, Marcele said: "In previous years, the whole family lived in an apartment so there wasn't much space to display. This year, we live in a more spacious house so we decorated it with peach blossoms and chrysanthemums. I also wanted to decorate it beautifully to welcome my husband back from the hospital."

During the Tet holiday, Xuan Son still spends time practicing simple exercises. In addition, he and his wife will organize barbecue parties with friends, sing karaoke, and enjoy moments of togetherness.

Xuan Son's family is loved by neighbors.

The house that Xuan Son's family is renting is owned by Mr. Binh (living in Nam Dinh).

Sharing with Dan Tri reporter, Mr. Binh revealed that the house was rented by the Vietnamese national team striker and his wife for 1 year, with a 3-year contract. The house is located in a well-planned area with high-class residents.

The project includes 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. In addition to the sleeping, kitchen and living room spaces, the house has a Koi fish pond in the corner of the yard, creating a cool, relaxing green space.

"Before renting here, he and his wife went to look at houses in many other places. Xuan Son chose to rent this house because of the quiet space, and because he could get a deep sleep to recover after football matches," Mr. Binh revealed.

Having a talented player as a tenant, contributing to Vietnamese football, Mr. Binh cannot help but be proud.

"Every Tet or weekend, Xuan Son often eats and socializes with neighbors. The two sons are very sociable, running around happily with friends of the same age in the neighborhood. When meeting neighbors, he smiles brightly and greets them politely," said the homeowner.

Mr. Hoa (32 years old, neighbor of Xuan Son's family) said that in the past year, the two sons of the soccer player were often taken by their parents to the neighbor's house to play. The whole family is very friendly, with no distance between them and everyone.

This man still remembers that last year during Tet, the Vietnamese national team striker sat down to eat and drink, welcomed the New Year and raised a glass of wine to celebrate the new year.

"Xuan Son lives a very disciplined life. In addition to practicing hard, he does not drink beer or alcohol, usually only a little wine. We often communicate with the couple in English. For complex sentences, everyone uses Google Translate, so the conversation is still very comfortable. Although there is a slight language barrier, everyone feels the hospitality and humor of Xuan Son and his wife," Mr. Hoa added.

Whenever the neighborhood had a festival, Xuan Son and his wife enthusiastically participated. Every afternoon, the father-in-law of the Nam Dinh Steel Club player often took his children to the neighborhood playground.

"Marcele - Xuan Son's wife - often gives the neighbors fruits, food and toys. Before, I often went to their house to play. Every time he came home from a competition and saw the neighbors, Xuan Son greeted them warmly, so everyone loved him," said a neighbor.

This is the first Lunar New Year that Xuan Son celebrates as a Vietnamese citizen. He is playing for the Nam Dinh Green Steel Club.

On October 15, 2024, Xuan Son received the decision to acquire Vietnamese nationality.

After that, he was named by coach Kim Sang Sik in the list of players to join the Vietnam team to participate in the ASEAN Cup 2024.

On December 21, 2024, player Xuan Son officially played his first match for the Vietnam national team, this is the time when he has lived in Vietnam for 5 years continuously according to FIFA regulations.

He participated in 5 matches in the ASEAN Cup 2024 with 7 goals, becoming the top scorer of the tournament.

In the second leg of the final against Thailand in Bangkok, Xuan Son suffered a serious injury and had to leave the field and be hospitalized immediately. He then traveled with his teammates to Vietnam and underwent surgery at Vinmec Times City Hospital.

After a short period of rehabilitation, he is currently on Tet holiday with his family. It is expected that it will take the male player 6-8 months to return to the field.
