Nowadays, online shopping and product introduction (livestream) on social platforms such as Facebook and Tiktok are becoming more and more popular.

In order to profit and appropriate goods and money, many bad guys have intentionally created fake transfer receipts to deceive sellers. It is worth mentioning that there are more and more groups and associations specializing in providing fake transfer receipt services to defraud and appropriate users' assets. Notably, these groups and associations attract a large number of members, up to tens of thousands of people.

Faced with this situation, the Department of Information Security, Ministry of Information and Communications issued a warning about the appearance of many websites that fake bank transfer invoices that look very similar to real invoices.

In groups, individuals use fake accounts to post advertisements about fake money transfer receipts from various banks, publicly pinning phone numbers on posts to contact for work via Zalo or Telegram platforms; posting completed products to gain credibility for themselves.

Groups and associations providing fake transfer receipts operate openly on social networks.

In addition, the subjects also created a number of fake websites or took advantage of the convenience and popularity of QR codes to commit fraud. The fake transfer receipts are edited very carefully, so the interface is very difficult to distinguish between real and fake. The receipts have full information and fonts that look like the real thing, so it is easy to mistake them just by looking at them.

To avoid being scammed, the Information Security Department recommends that people be vigilant against people who offer to buy large quantities of goods. When using transactions via bank accounts, carefully check the transfer receipt and do not deliver the goods if you have not received the money in your bank account, even if the subject has provided a successful transfer image.

People should especially note to absolutely not provide their login name, application password, one-time authentication code (OTP), email... to any person claiming to be a bank employee or government agency.

At the same time, people should check and verify the recipient's information before making any money transfer transactions online. If you suspect or become a victim of this form of fraud, you should report the incident to the competent authorities so that the authorities can investigate.
