A business in Spain that has a contract to import pepper and cashew nuts from Vietnamese businesses has shown signs of procrastination and delay in paying the remaining amount for the goods, with reasons that have forced the Vietnamese Trade Office in this country to send a warning back to Vietnam.
On January 16, the Ministry of Industry and Trade cited a notice from the Vietnam Trade Office in Spain asking Vietnamese businesses to pay attention when signing and exporting goods with a partner in Spain with the transaction name "Isasa Siglo XXI, SL".
According to the Vietnam Trade Office in Spain, this enterprise has just been reported by a number of Vietnamese pepper and cashew nut exporting enterprises that when goods are delivered to the receiving port, this enterprise often gives the reason that... the goods do not guarantee quality, or because of business losses, so it often delays and delays payment of the remaining goods.
This situation has caused difficulties, loss of time, storage costs and having to bring goods back for Vietnamese businesses.
Specific information about this partner is as follows:
- Company ISASA SIGLO XXI, SL
- Representative: Mr. Manuel Gil or Ms. Annie
- Headquarters: CALLE RIOGORDO, NAVE 4, ESTRELLA, 29006 MALAGA, SPAIN

Therefore, the Vietnam Trade Office in Spain sends a warning to domestic enterprises to be careful when signing sales contracts with the above enterprises. The Trade Office recommends that enterprises need to strengthen coordination with the Trade Office to verify the reputation of the partner before signing the sales contract to avoid risks and fraud.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in 2022, 76 containers of Vietnamese cashew nuts exported to Italy were defrauded by gullible brokers. By July 2023, according to the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association, 5 containers of cashews, pepper, cinnamon, and star anise from 4 Vietnamese enterprises were at risk of losing their goods in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Experts say that the risk of fraud in international business is very high. Vietnamese businesses need to carefully study international laws, choose safe forms of transactions, and avoid high-risk methods.
