Import and export break through, budget revenue exceeds 379,000 billion VND

On November 11, the Customs Department announced that the state budget revenue from import-export activities in 10 months reached VND 379,816 billion, equal to 92.4% of the assigned estimate, equal to 80.8% of the target, up 9.3% over the same period in 2024 (equivalent to an increase of VND 32,384 billion).

Accordingly, the total import and export of goods in the first 10 months of 2025 reached 762.44 billion USD (up 17.4%, equivalent to an increase of 112.74 billion USD over the same period last year). The trade balance of goods had a surplus of 19.56 billion USD.

According to the Customs Department, in October 2025, the complicated developments of the world and domestic gold markets with large price differences have increased the risk of smuggling and illegal transportation of gold and currency across the border, concentrated on roads and inland waterways in the southern border area bordering Cambodia (Tinh Bien, Khanh Binh - An Giang, Bo Y - Gia Lai) and bordering Laos (Lao Bao - Quang Tri). Subjects mainly hide gold and money in personal luggage and means of transport; on the air route through Noi Bai and Tan Son Nhat international airports, there has been a situation of hiding gold and money in people and carry-on luggage, especially on flights from Taiwan to Vietnam.

The activities of taking advantage of the transit, transshipment and transit modes to transport counterfeit goods and goods infringing intellectual property rights continue, concentrated at border gates with China, Laos and Cambodia. Common tricks are: false declaration, failure to declare protected trademarks, mixing infringing goods with legal goods or taking advantage of simple customs declaration procedures for transit goods to not declare trademarks of goods...

From December 15, 2024 to October 14, 2025, the Customs authority discovered, arrested and handled 15,121 cases, the value of infringing goods is estimated at VND 19,551 billion; the state budget revenue reached: VND 710.33 billion. The Customs authority prosecuted 16 cases and transferred 100 cases to other agencies for prosecution...

Faced with complicated developments in the situation of smuggling and illegal transportation of goods across the border, the Customs Department has issued many documents warning, strengthening, and guiding operations, such as: strengthening prevention, detection, and handling of smuggled routes; on the situation of drug production, trading, and transportation in the Latin American region... Directing regional Customs Sub-Departments to review, develop, and organize self-inspection of Customs control operations to strengthen customs control and combat smuggling; improve efficiency, and speed up the process of preparing customs control records.
