Yen Bai promotes digital economic development

After 4 years of implementing Resolution No. 51, dated July 22, 2021 of the 19th Provincial Party Executive Committee on Digital Transformation of Yen Bai Province in the period of 2021 - 2025, with a vision to 2030, the province's digital economy has grown quite well, with the proportion of digital economy/GRDP of the province reaching 14.5%, an increase of 8.5% compared to before implementing the Resolution.

Mr. Le Tri Ha - Director of the Provincial Department of Science and Technology said: Up to now, the rate of enterprises using digital platforms has reached 100%; the proportion of digital economy in industries and fields has reached an average of 10.7%; the proportion of e-commerce in total retail sales has reached 11%; the rate of enterprises using electronic contracts has reached 70%; the rate of digital economic labor in the workforce has reached over 1.8%.
Digital platforms and technologies have been gradually introduced into the stages and processes of the production - consumption chain and in each industry and economic sector; many digital technologies have been applied to innovate management methods, improve productivity, product quality, and enhance economic value.
In the agricultural sector, a number of enterprises, cooperatives and farming households have applied technical advances to production and business. To date, the province has issued 89 growing area codes; many livestock farms and breeding establishments have applied automatic feeding trough technology, automatic drinking water systems, and managed and monitored livestock farming using cameras; deployed 5 aquatic environmental monitoring points; deployed platforms and attached traceability stamps to a number of typical agricultural products of the province.
At the same time, deploy and maintain 40 automatic rain gauge systems in localities to serve natural disaster warning; widely disseminate and guide people to install and use the App "Vietnam Natural Disaster Prevention"; drone technology has been applied in crop care and performing a number of tasks in preventing storm No. 3.
"The province has paid great attention to directing the implementation of digital transformation in agriculture, helping the agricultural sector reach domestic and foreign markets, export to countries around the world and be more responsible to consumers. We recommend that the province pay attention to directing specialized sectors to continue to promote skills and knowledge about digital transformation, specifically sales skills through e-commerce platforms for agricultural production households to introduce and promote products to consumers, promoting the consumption of agricultural products of the province" - Mr. Do Thanh Tung - Head of the Economic - Social Department, Provincial Farmers' Association shared.
In the field of industry and trade, the province has built a "Made in Yen Bai" booth on a number of major e-commerce platforms; organized training on digital skills and business skills on e-commerce platforms for agricultural production households, and supported the introduction of nearly 5,000 agricultural products to e-commerce platforms, including 100% OCOP products.
At the same time, the program "Online Shopping Day" was organized to promote digital economic development in Nghia Lo town with 35 booths and over 100 products for sale. At the program, 8 TikTokers were invited to perform Livestream to introduce and sell products directly on social networking platforms with more than 1,000 orders closed at the beginning of the session. In addition, Yen Bai continues to effectively maintain the 4.0 market model; promoting non-cash payments continues to be replicated in 9/9 districts, towns and cities with more than 600 QR code scanning points for non-cash payments, generating nearly 9,900 transactions per month, equivalent to 5.6 billion VND. Up to now, the whole province has reached 21% of the central markets of localities installed with free wifi hotspots for internet access to serve non-cash payments.
In the finance and banking sector, units have deployed a digital map of business households and the eTax Mobile application. To date, the digital map of business households has data of 19,000 business households established by the tax authority for tax management, with 6,725 business households (81.3%) paying taxes via the EtaxMobile App. Commercial bank branches in the province have strongly deployed e-banking services; 82% of adults in the province use non-cash payment services.
In the fields of trade, services and tourism, localities and units have applied product identification through barcodes, online shopping, e-commerce platforms, cashless payments, virtual reality technology applications to experience tourism activities... Some localities have deployed digital tourism economic models such as: Model of applying digital technology to serve tourism development in Phinh Ho commune, Tram Tau district; Suoi Giang commune, Van Chan district; "Digital Homestay" model in Mu Cang Chai district, supporting online tourism promotion in Nghia Lo town.
Ms. Nguyen Thanh Nga - Chairman of Nghia Lo Town People's Committee said: With the active support of banks, telecommunications service providers, businesses, business households, and local residents, the town has placed QR-CODE codes to introduce destinations, tourism information of Nghia Lo town, and QR code payment systems at accommodation establishments, restaurants, and eateries in the town. Many accommodation establishments, homestays, and tourism service businesses have also proactively used social networking platforms to promote and attract tourists such as: Ban Muong Homestay, Muong Lo Retreat, Koi Fish Coffee...
For the non-state sector, enterprises, cooperatives, and individual business households have actively applied digital platforms and technologies to serve management and production and business organization, such as: Building websites to promote and introduce products, using digital platforms in business management, using accounting software, electronic tax declaration and payment, using VietQR codes for electronic payments, electronic signatures, electronic contracts, etc.
Deploying the platform and attaching traceability stamps to typical agricultural products. Thereby contributing to enhancing the value and brand of typical products of the province, increasing income for product owners. Along with that, the province supports over 40 enterprises, cooperatives, and business households to build and operate Yen Bai booths on domestic e-commerce platforms, participate in online conferences connecting with foreign enterprises and participate in business skills training courses on digital platforms to develop brands and build images for enterprises and cooperatives.
Yen Bai province aims for the digital economy to account for 20% of GRDP by 2025, while making an important contribution to the locality's sustainable socio-economic development.
