Yen Bai reviews, repairs and fixes suspension bridge system

This is a move to implement the Prime Minister 's direction in Official Dispatch No. 51/CD-TTg dated April 24, 2025, to ensure traffic safety and people's daily life before the rainy and stormy season.

Accordingly, the People's Committees of districts, towns, cities and provinces are required to direct a comprehensive review of suspension bridges in the area, assess the current situation, promptly repair, overcome, and strengthen safety measures (installation of signs, warning signs, etc.) to ensure the ability to serve people's traffic safely and conveniently, to be completed before May 30, 2025.

At the same time, proactively and prioritize the allocation of capital sources, and coordinate with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Yen Bai province and local organizations to mobilize support, mobilize social resources of people, businesses, mobilize local forces (army, police, youth, women, etc.) to participate in supporting the repair and construction of new suspension bridges to serve the people, striving to complete before September 2, 2025. In case it exceeds the local resource balance capacity, make a list and propose support funding to the Department of Finance for synthesis, report to competent authorities for consideration and decision.

Urgently develop a plan to build new solid bridges at locations where suspension bridges are no longer repairable or in areas with high traffic demand and report to the Provincial People's Committee.

The provincial Department of Construction is assigned to strengthen inspection and urge districts, towns and cities to review, promptly repair, overcome and build new suspension bridges and community bridges to serve people's needs.

In addition, the Department of Finance synthesizes the funding needs of localities to immediately repair and fix the suspension bridge system in the area under its management, and advises and proposes to competent authorities for consideration and decision.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province and socio-political organizations are requested to closely coordinate, strengthen propaganda, mobilize resources to participate in supporting the repair and construction of new suspension bridges and people's bridges in the province to ensure traffic safety, creating favorable conditions for people's daily life and travel.
