83% of buffalo and cattle are vaccinated against foot and mouth disease

Mr. Truong Van Binh, Deputy Head of the Provincial Department of Crop Production and Livestock, said: The first round of vaccination in 2025 has just ended. As a result, localities have vaccinated 79,547 doses of foot-and-mouth disease vaccine for buffaloes and cows, reaching 83% of the total herd in need of vaccination.

Specifically, Tuy Hoa city has the highest vaccination rate of 93%, Tay Hoa district has 92%, Phu Hoa district has 88%, Son Hoa district has 87%, Song Hinh district has 85%, Song Cau town has 83%, Dong Xuan district has 81%, Dong Hoa town has 80%, the lowest is Tuy An district with a vaccination rate of 71%. For cattle and buffalo erysipelas vaccine, only 12,350 doses have been injected/total herd of 96,421 animals. Other vaccines such as lumpy skin disease have been injected at 53%; rabies vaccine for dogs has been injected at 37% with about 10,800 doses; avian influenza vaccine has been injected at 205,500 doses.

The provincial Department of Crop Production and Livestock and localities continue to vaccinate livestock that have not been vaccinated in the main phase; at the same time, strengthen animal control and quarantine to monitor the livestock situation and animal diseases in the province.
