In response to the event of the Yen Tu-Vinh Nghiem-Con Son-Kiep Bac Monuments and Landscape Complex being recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage, Yen Tu ward, Quang Ninh province will organize the Yen Tu Autumn Festival 2025 with the theme "Yen Tu - Autumn Colors of Meditation."
This series of unique cultural and spiritual events will take place from September to December 2025 at Yen Tu Historical Relic and Scenic Area.
This is the first time the Autumn Festival has been organized by Yen Tu ward on a large scale and for a long time to stimulate tourism , especially during the low season.
The festival is not only a simple tourist event but also an effort by the locality to build the image of Yen Tu as a pure, profound place, imbued with the identity of Truc Lam Buddhism - a pure Vietnamese Zen sect founded by Buddhist Emperor Tran Nhan Tong.
The activities within the framework of the festival are designed to spread the Buddha King's thoughts of "Living in the world and enjoying the Dharma" and "Sharing light among the world", while creating unique tourism products, contributing to realizing the goal of "four-season tourism" of Quang Ninh province.
Mr. Mac Xuan Tu, Vice Chairman of Yen Tu Ward People's Committee, said that the highlight of the Yen Tu Autumn Festival 2025 is the first-ever "Ultra Trail Yen Tu 2025" Run, scheduled to take place on September 5-6, 2025.
With the theme “Discovering Heritage - Spreading the Essence”, the race promises to attract thousands of domestic and foreign athletes to participate. The running route is not only a physical challenge but also a journey to explore the cultural, historical and spiritual depths of Yen Tu.
Athletes will conquer 4 special distances: 5km, 15km, 25km and Ultra Trail 50km, passing through sacred sites such as Giai Oan Pagoda, Hoa Yen Pagoda and Dong Pagoda peak.
The race is professionally organized with a modern electronic scoring system, many attractive prizes and special experiences for athletes.
Besides the race, Yen Tu Autumn Festival 2025 will have many diverse and in-depth activities.
From the end of September to the end of December, visitors will be able to participate in: Nuong Village Festival with Xam art, traditional dance and floating flower lanterns; enjoy art performances "Dieu am Yen Tu Son", "Quintessence of Vietnamese culture"; experience meditation tours - discover heritage such as "Journey in the footsteps of Buddha Hoang", "Dawn of Dong Pagoda"; participate in folk games, enjoy vegetarian cuisine and explore traditional markets.
The festival will conclude in December 2025 with a closing ceremony and a ceremony to commemorate the 717th anniversary of the Nirvana of King Tran Nhan Tong, hosted by the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Quang Ninh province.
The “Yen Tu-Autumn Meditation” Festival and the “Ultra Trail Yen Tu” race are expected to be a breakthrough in the journey to build Yen Tu into a cultural-tourism-meditation center on the foundation of a cultural heritage recognized by UNESCO./.
