
According to the General Statistics Office, total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue in October are estimated at VND598.4 trillion, up 0.2% over the previous month and 7.2% over the same period in 2024. This increase shows that consumer demand continues to be maintained stably.
Specifically, revenue from the garment group increased by 12.3%; household appliances, tools and equipment increased by 8.9%; food and foodstuffs increased by 8.4%...
In the first 10 months of 2025, total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue are estimated at VND 5,772.9 trillion, up 9.3% over the same period last year, higher than the 8.8% increase in 2024. Excluding the price factor, the increase reached 7%, showing that people's actual purchasing power continues to improve.
Of which, retail sales of goods reached 4,400.1 trillion VND, accounting for 76.2% of the total and increasing by 8% over the same period last year. Key commodity groups all grew steadily, including: Food and foodstuffs increased by 10%, garments increased by 8.6%, household appliances and equipment increased by 7.1%, cultural and educational items increased by 6.9%.
By region, retail sales continued to improve in major economic hubs. Da Nang increased by 9.4%, Can Tho increased by 8.7%, while Ho Chi Minh City and Hai Phong both increased by 8.3%, and Hanoi increased by 8%. This even growth reflects the effectiveness of stimulus programs, promotions and domestic consumption promotion at the end of the year.
With the current recovery momentum, the trade and service sector is expected to continue to be a bright spot in the fourth quarter of 2025, creating momentum for GDP growth and ensuring a balance between domestic consumption and exports in the context of many fluctuations in the global economy.
