In the first 10 months of 2023, rattan, bamboo, sedge, and carpet exports reached nearly 600 million USD.

Export of rattan, bamboo, sedge, and carpet products in the first 5 months of 2021 reached 356.47 million USD. Export of rattan, bamboo, sedge, and carpet products increased slowly.

According to statistics from the General Department of Customs, Vietnam's export of rattan, bamboo, sedge, and carpet products in September 2023 reached 52.83 million USD, down 17.9% compared to August 2023, up 6.5% compared to September 2022. In the first 9 months of 2023, the export of rattan, bamboo, sedge, and carpet products reached 538.69 million USD, down 16.3% compared to the same period in 2022.

It is estimated that the export of rattan, bamboo, sedge and carpet products in October 2023 reached 60 million USD, an increase of 13.6% compared to September 2023; bringing the total export turnover in the first 10 months of 2023 to 598.69 million USD, a decrease of 14% compared to the same period in 2022.

In September 2023, exports of rattan, bamboo, sedge, and carpets increased compared to August 2023; compared to September 2022, only woven sedge decreased, while exports of the remaining categories increased.

However, in general, in the first 9 months of 2023, exports of rattan, bamboo, sedge, and carpets all decreased compared to the same period in 2022.

Specifically, Vietnam's carpet exports in September 2023 reached 28.63 million USD, down 18.8% compared to August 2023; up 8.3% compared to September 2022. In the first 9 months of 2023, carpet exports reached 298.19 million USD, down 10.2% over the same period last year.

In September 2023, woven water hyacinth exports reached 8.0 million USD, down 13.7% compared to August 2023, up 34.2% compared to September 2022. In the first 9 months of 2023, woven water hyacinth exports reached 71.92 million USD, down 6.6% compared to the same period in 2022.

In September 2023, woven sedge exports reached 4.68 million USD, woven bamboo exports reached 3.93 million USD and woven rattan exports reached 2.90 million USD, down 15.3%, 26.3% and 25.1% respectively compared to August 2023. In the first 9 months of 2023, woven sedge exports reached 45.05 million USD, woven bamboo exports reached 44.81 million USD and woven rattan exports reached 29.32 million USD, down 30.9%, 28.2% and 21.8% respectively compared to the same period in 2022.

Regarding the market, according to statistics, Vietnam's export of rattan, bamboo, sedge, and carpet products to the EU market in September 2023 reached 11.52 million USD, down 20.8% compared to August 2023 and down 8.4% compared to September 2022. In the first 9 months of 2023, the export of rattan, bamboo, sedge, and carpet products to the EU accounted for 25.3% of the country's total export turnover of this item, reaching 136.44 million USD, down 14.6% over the same period in 2022.

Exports of rattan, bamboo, sedge, and carpet products to the US market in September 2023 reached 17.80 million USD, down 26.7% compared to August 2023, but up 15.2% compared to September 2022. In the first 9 months of 2023, exports of rattan, bamboo, sedge, and carpet products to the US accounted for 37.8% of the country's total export turnover of this item, reaching 203.80 million USD, down 22.3% over the same period in 2022.
