Previously, on the night of June 3, Lang Son General Hospital received 4 patients from the same family with symptoms of poisoning after eating light pink mushrooms.

According to family members, at around 7pm the same day, the family ate wild mushrooms of an unknown type, light pink in colour, which they had eaten many times before. About 2 hours after eating, the family members began to experience headaches, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, cramps and frequent loose stools. Afterwards, the 4 patients were taken to the hospital by their families.

After examination and testing, the doctors diagnosed the four patients with mushroom poisoning. The patients were given intravenous fluids to detoxify, emergency gastric lavage, and activated charcoal sorbitol to absorb the poison. Because the patients were admitted to the hospital early and given timely emergency care, their health has stabilized and they are expected to be discharged on the afternoon of June 4.

In Dak Lak , according to a report from the Lak District Medical Center, at around 6:00 p.m. on June 2, at the house of Mr. YSÊ (residing in Jun village, Lien Son town, Lak district, Dak Lak province), a group of 7 adults ate hot pot with unknown mushrooms picked from the field.

After eating, all 7 people had headaches and vomited, so their families took them to the Lak District Medical Center. Due to the severe poisoning, 3 out of 7 patients were transferred to the Central Highlands General Hospital by the Lak District Medical Center. The remaining 4 patients with less severe symptoms are currently being treated at the Medical Center.

At the Central Highlands General Hospital, doctors said they had admitted 3 patients with abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, headache, and dizziness, with a diagnosis of unknown mushroom poisoning. Of the 3 hospitalized patients, 1 patient had liver and kidney damage, so the Department is actively monitoring and treating him.

In addition to the three cases of unknown mushroom poisoning in Lak district, on June 2, the Intensive Care and Anti-Poison Department of the Central Highlands General Hospital also admitted patient LVM (residing in Cu Jut district, Dak Nong province) for treatment in a state of abdominal pain, severe vomiting, and diarrhea due to eating unknown mushrooms.

Currently, patients with mushroom poisoning are being monitored and treated by medical facilities.

The poisonous mushroom that the LVM patient picked and ate caused the patient to be hospitalized for treatment.

Dak Lak Provincial Department of Health said that although mushrooms are nutritious foods, they also pose potential risks if used improperly. Mushroom poisoning has many health consequences, so doctors recommend that people absolutely should not eat strange mushrooms, mushrooms with unknown characteristics, wild mushrooms picked in the forest or growing wild in the garden if they do not have the professional knowledge to clearly distinguish them. People should only use mushrooms grown and sold at reputable establishments with food safety inspections. In addition, if you accidentally eat strange mushrooms and have unusual symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, dizziness, you should go to the nearest medical facility immediately for timely emergency treatment to avoid dangerous complications.
