120 athletes participate in the Pickleball tournament of Tra Vinh province clubs

This is a sports activity to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025) and the campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho".

Attending the opening ceremony were comrades: Duong Hoang Sum, Provincial Party Committee member, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Head of the Organizing Committee; Trinh Thanh Dat, Director of Tra Vinh Sports Training and Competition Center; representatives of the Provincial Border Guard Command, sponsors and athletes.

Comrade Duong Hoang Sum presented souvenir flags to the teams participating in the tournament.

The tournament gathered 13 participating clubs with 120 athletes (42 women, 78 men). Athletes competed in the following events: men's doubles, women's doubles, mixed doubles in 02 age groups: 16 - 35 years old and 36 years old and above.

Comrade Duong Hoang Sum awarded certificates to the tournament sponsors.

In his opening speech, comrade Duong Hoang Sum said: The Pickleball tournament of Tra Vinh province clubs competing for the Liberty Cup is a meaningful sporting event, contributing to promoting the sports movement and improving community health. It creates a playground and opportunity for athletes to exchange, learn, and improve their professional skills in the new sport, effectively promoting the sports movement in the province.

Teams participating in the tournament receive souvenir flags.

Comrade Duong Hoang Sum called on athletes to demonstrate the sportsmanship spirit of "solidarity, honesty, and nobility", competing to the best of their ability to achieve the highest results.

The tournament is scheduled to take place over two days (May 10 and 11). After the opening ceremony, athletes will compete in qualifying matches.
