According to the announcement of Times Higher Education (THE), in 2024, there will be 2,152 higher education institutions from 125 countries ranked in THE Impact Rankings. Vietnam has 13 universities ranked, an increase of 4 schools compared to last year.
Specifically, Nguyen Tat Thanh University has the highest ranking among representatives from Vietnam, in the 301-400 group. The educational institutions in the 401-600 group are Duy Tan University, FPT University, National Economics University, Ton Duc Thang University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Hanoi National University, respectively.

Hanoi University of Science and Technology is still in the 601-800 ranking group, followed by Van Lang University with the 801-1,000 ranking.
Three schools in the top 1,001-1,500 are Lac Hong University, Ho Chi Minh City Open University and Phenikaa University. Vietnam-Germany University is in the top 1,501+.
THE Impact Rankings includes the following criteria: Poverty eradication; Hunger eradication; Good health and well-being; Quality education; Gender equality; Economic growth and sustainable employment; Industry, innovation and infrastructure development; Reducing inequality; Sustainable cities and communities; Responsible consumption and production; Climate protection; Water resources and environment; Land resources and environment; Peace, justice and strong institutions; Partnership for development goals.
Previously, on June 5, 2024, Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) announced the results of the QS World University Rankings 2025 (QS WUR 2025).
In particular, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) has made a strong increase to its position in the group 851-900 of the world's best universities according to QS WUR's ranking criteria (compared to the previous ranking of group 951-1000).
