2 agricultural export groups grew by 3 digits

(HQ Online) - In March 2024, there were 2 export groups of agricultural products with triple-digit growth compared to the previous month.

Specifically, two export groups of agricultural products with high growth turnover are cashew nuts and pepper.

Accordingly, in March, cashew nut exports reached 58,922 tons, with a turnover of 315.45 million USD, an increase of 121.6% in volume and 122.3% in turnover compared to March 2024.

By the end of March, cashew nut exports reached 150,683 tons, with a turnover of 808.85 million USD, up 35.4% in volume and 24.6% in turnover over the same period in 2023.

Meanwhile, pepper exports reached 25,917 tons, with a turnover of 111.58 million USD, up 92.7% in volume but up 104.8% in turnover compared to the previous month.

Despite the sharp increase in March, in the first three months of the year, pepper export results still decreased sharply in volume, while turnover only increased slightly. Accumulated in the first quarter of 2024, pepper export was 56,783 tons, turnover reached 235.82 million USD, down 25.4% in volume, up 1.1% in turnover compared to the same period in 2023.

In addition to the above two groups of goods, statistical data of the General Department of Customs recorded that many key export groups of the agricultural sector had high growth in March and the first quarter such as vegetables and fruits; rice; coffee; wood and wood products; tea, etc.
