Landslides and damage
According to the People's Committee of Ham Thanh commune, heavy rain and flash floods caused landslides in infrastructure, flooded crops and houses, causing serious damage in the area. Specifically, the road leading to the Da Ban - Gia Nao production area in Ham Can 1 village, with an area of about 350 hectares of ethnic minority households. The rain and floods in recent days have caused about 200 meters of this road to collapse into the Linh River. The estimated damage is about 2 billion VND. Currently, the road is completely destroyed, making it impossible for people to travel when the hybrid corn season is in full swing. Mr. Nguyen Nguyen Van Thien shared: "Previously, the rice fields were located along the traffic route along the Linh River. Now the landslide is close to the edge of the field, there is no road. I used rocks to fill the edge of the field to both limit landslides and make a temporary road."

According to Mr. Mai Van Hoang, Ham Can 1 village, water from Gia Nao and Ta No sources flows into Linh River. This river flows through Ham Can 1 village, causing flooding and landslides in many fields and gardens of ethnic minorities. People now have to walk about 3 km to the production area to check the corn fields during harvest time. Traveling is very difficult and dangerous, even for young people and men, let alone women and children. Currently, there is no road to transport agricultural products, so people hope that the government will soon repair the road to conveniently transport corn from the fields. Similarly, the road to Truong Dan production area, My Thanh 2 village, the road surface around the spillway was completely eroded. The exposed concrete culverts created deep holes across the road, cutting off traffic, with an estimated damage of about 50 million VND. In addition, deep flooding at the spillways of My Thanh 1 and My Thanh 2 villages has cut off traffic for 281 households. The situation of two overflowing culverts of Suoi Thi being deeply flooded, cutting off traffic for more than 500 households.
Need support for people and repair costs
Mr. Nguyen Dang Hai - Vice Chairman of Ham Thanh Commune People's Committee said: Local forces proactively responded according to the "4 on-site" motto to quickly overcome the consequences of natural disasters. Shock forces including police and military were deployed to regulate traffic, especially in areas with deep flooding and landslide risks. People were instructed to travel safely through culverts, overflow sewers and areas with fast-flowing water. Absolutely do not let people or vehicles pass if safety is not guaranteed, especially in the area of Bom Bi overflow sewer, Suoi Thi bridge and Song Linh bridge.
The People's Committee of Ham Thanh commune organized a review and statistics of the damage. The purpose is to promptly support people to stabilize their lives. Along with that, guide people to implement safety measures during the rainy and flood season. Recommend that the province pay attention and consider allocating funding from the Natural Disaster Prevention and Control Fund. This funding is to support the locality to overcome the consequences of heavy rains and flash floods in the commune according to regulations.
At the same time, the Commune People's Committee has submitted to the Department of Agriculture and Environment and the Provincial Irrigation Sub-Department for consideration of support, with a budget of about 4 billion VND to invest in repairing 2 urgent projects. That is the anti-erosion embankment to ensure traffic access to the Da Ban - Gia Nao production area in Ham Can 1 village. The spillway project combines dredging, clearing the flow, removing items and obstacles that pose risks of natural disasters at Suoi Thi (Dan Thuan village). These projects aim to protect the property and lives of people in ethnic minority areas.
