230 players participate in the 3rd Fansipan Chess Tournament for Vietcombank Cup

On May 20 and 21, Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam ( Vietcombank ) - Lao Cai Branch coordinated with the City Department of Education and Training to organize the 3rd Vietcombank Cup Fansipan Chess Tournament - 2023.

The Organizing Committee awarded 131 prizes to contestants with high achievements at the tournament.

This year's tournament gathered 230 players of all ages from primary, secondary, high schools and individuals in the province, competing in 7 male age groups (U7, U8, U9, U10, U11, U15 and Open) and 3 female age groups (U9, U15 and Open).

This tournament is considered to be highly professional because many contestants have won prizes and achieved high results in domestic and international tournaments. Athletes also have the opportunity to practice to prepare for the upcoming National Youth Chess Tournament sponsored by Vietcombank.

In addition, through the tournament, the Organizing Committee can select, discover and train talents to participate in chess tournaments at all levels organized by the Vietnam Chess Federation.
