236 athletes compete at the 2025 National Youth Weightlifting Championships

On the morning of March 30, at the Dak Lak Provincial Sports Gymnasium, the Vietnam Weightlifting and Bodybuilding Federation (Department of Sports and Physical Training, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) coordinated with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dak Lak province to organize the opening ceremony of the 2025 National Youth Weightlifting Championship.

The tournament attracted 236 male and female athletes from 31 delegations of provinces, cities and sectors nationwide, including: An Giang, Bac Giang, Bac Lieu, Bac Ninh, Can Tho, People's Public Security, Da Nang, Dak Lak, Dong Nai, Dong Thap, Hanoi , Hai Duong, Hai Phong, Hoa Binh, Hung Yen, Khanh Hoa, Kien Giang, Lam Dong, Lang Son, Lao Cai, Nghe An, Ninh Binh, Quang Binh, Quang Ninh, Quang Tri, Soc Trang, Son La, Thai Nguyen, Thanh Hoa, Tien Giang and Ho Chi Minh City. The athletes competed in the following categories: 40kg, 45kg, 49kg, 55kg, 59kg, over 59kg (for women) and 49kg, 55kg, 61kg, 67kg, 73kg and over 73kg (for men).

Mr. Tran Hong Tien - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dak Lak province, Head of the Organizing Committee of the tournament delivered the opening speech.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the tournament, Mr. Tran Hong Tien - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dak Lak province, Head of the Organizing Committee, said: The 2025 National Youth Weightlifting Championship aims to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) and practically promote the implementation of the campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho". The tournament is an opportunity for athletes to exchange, learn, compete, and improve their professional skills, thereby the Organizing Committee discovers and selects outstanding athletes to nurture, train, and add to the national Weightlifting team.

According to Mr. Huynh Ngoc Minh - Vice President of the Vietnam Weightlifting and Bodybuilding Federation, this year's tournament has attracted the largest number of athletes ever, which proves the increasing investment interest of provinces, cities and sectors in weightlifting. The Organizing Committee hopes that through national tournaments, the athletes' achievements will be improved and enhanced; at the same time, it hopes that provincial, city and sector units will continue to pay attention to investing in many aspects so that weightlifting can develop in all regions.
