On December 16th, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education announced its plan to organize the 2026 specialized competency assessment exam. Candidates can register for an account to take the exam starting from January 12th, 2026.

Three exam sessions in four provinces/cities.

This exam is an important selection method to choose candidates with the specific abilities that meet the entrance requirements of specialized academic programs at Ho Chi Minh City University of Education.

According to Master Nguyen Ngoc Trung - Vice Principal of the school, in 2026, there will be 3 rounds of specialized competency assessment exams at 5 testing locations in Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang , Dak Lak and Tay Ninh.

"The specialized competency assessment exam of Ho Chi Minh City University of Education has been held since 2022."

Over the years, the exam has gradually gained the attention of students and parents in Ho Chi Minh City and many other provinces and cities, with the number of registrations increasing each year. The three exam sessions in 2026 are expected to have approximately 40,000 participants," Mr. Trung said.

Specific exam locations:

In Ho Chi Minh City - location 1: Ho Chi Minh City University of Education - main campus (280 An Duong Vuong Street, Cho Quan Ward, Ho Chi Minh City).

In Ho Chi Minh City - location 2: Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade (140 Le Trong Tan Street, Tay Thanh Ward, Ho Chi Minh City).

In Da Nang - Point 3: University of Education - University of Da Nang (459 Ton Duc Thang Street, Hoa Khanh Ward, Da Nang City).

In Dak Lak - Point 4: Tay Nguyen University (567 Le Duan Street, Ea Kao Ward, Dak Lak Province).

In Tay Ninh - Point 5: Ho Chi Minh City University of Education - Long An Branch (934 National Highway 1A, Khanh Hau Ward, Tay Ninh Province).

Computer-based testing allows for independent exams in multiple subjects.

The exam, intended for 11th and 12th grade students and any individual wishing to learn about the exam, will cover subjects including mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, literature, and English.

Candidates may choose to register for one or more of the above subjects to apply for admission to majors that use the results of a specialized aptitude test, based on the school's 2026 admission plan and the schools that use the test results.

Candidates register and pay the registration fee online. The registration fee for the subjects of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology is 300,000 VND per subject; Literature: 400,000 VND; and English: 700,000 VND.

Candidates have the right to choose a suitable exam session and location, and take the exam on a computer at testing sites organized by the school.

The school notes that registration may close earlier once the maximum number of registrations for each round is reached.
