Familiar foreign referee of V-League

Round 22 of LPBank V-League 1-2024 - 2025 will take place from May 9 to May 11 with exciting matches, including the top group, as well as the relegation battle. Two matches announced by the Organizing Committee will have the appearance of foreign referees: the match between SHB Da Nang and Quy Nhon Binh Dinh (6 p.m. at Tam Ky Stadium on May 10) and the match between Thep Xanh Nam Dinh and Dong A Thanh Hoa (6 p.m. at Thien Truong Stadium on May 11) with referees from Thailand and Malaysia.

Specifically, two Malaysian FIFA referees, Tuan Mohd Yaasin and Muhamad Izzul, will officiate the match between Nam Dinh Blue Steel and Dong A Thanh Hoa (one main referee and one VAR referee). The clash between Nam Dinh, the team at the top of the rankings with 42 points, and Thanh Hoa, the team ranked 6th with 30 points, promises to be very tense.

Meanwhile, Thai FIFA referee Wiwat Jumpaoon officiated the match at Tam Ky Stadium between SHB Da Nang and Quy Nhon Binh Dinh. This was a match of special interest, the “reverse final” between two teams currently at the bottom of the rankings.

Referee Wiwat Jumpaoon, born in 1989, has been a FIFA referee since 2018 and has experience of officiating many matches in the Thai League and the Asian Cup 1. Mr. Wiwat officiated the match between Vietnam and Curacao at the King's Cup 2019, and the Vietnam team played a friendly match with the Philippines at Hang Day Stadium before the AFF Cup 2022.

All three referees mentioned above have been invited to officiate matches in the V-League before. Referee Muhamad Izzul just officiated the highlight match of round 21 on May 4 between Hanoi FC and Nam Dinh Blue Steel.

Referee Tuan Mohd Yaasin has officiated in round 22 of V-League 2022 (the match between Dong A Thanh Hoa and Ho Chi Minh City Club) and round 7 of V-League 2023 (the match between Khanh Hoa and SHB Da Nang). Thai FIFA referee Wiwat Jumpaoon has officiated the match between Topeland Binh Dinh and Hanoi in V-League 2023 - 2024.
