On December 13, General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense , presided over the medal award ceremony to senior officers of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA).
Accordingly, 34 generals of the Vietnam People's Army with outstanding achievements in the cause of building the army, strengthening national defense and protecting the Fatherland were awarded the Military Exploit Order and the Fatherland Protection Order byPresident Luong Cuong on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day.

The 10 leaders of the Ministry of National Defense receiving the Third Class Military Exploit Order this time include: Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; 4 Senior Lieutenant Generals, Deputy Ministers of National Defense: Vo Minh Luong, Vu Hai San, Hoang Xuan Chien, Pham Hoai Nam; Senior Lieutenant General Huynh Chien Thang, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army; Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Doan Anh, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, now Secretary of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee; Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Gau, former Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics, now Secretary of the Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee; Lieutenant General Le Quang Minh, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; Lieutenant General Pham Truong Son, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army.
24 generals and commanders of other agencies and units in the Ministry of National Defense were awarded the First, Second and Third Class Fatherland Protection Medal.
Speaking at the ceremony, General Phan Van Giang believed that the high-ranking officials receiving the medals will continue to promote their intelligence, uphold their bravery, solidarity, and exemplary role models; constantly strive and improve themselves to meet the requirements and tasks in the new situation, contributing worthily to the glorious revolutionary cause of the Party and our people in the new era - the era of national development.
