The program is organized by the Department of Culture and Sports in coordination with the Department of Education and Training of Hue City.
Lasting for nearly 1 month, the training program with the participation of 45 students who are music teachers from secondary schools in the city. The program is divided into 2 groups of classes, the advanced group for students who have participated in the previous training course and the basic group for students participating for the first time.
During the training course, students were taught from theory to practice by experts and experienced artists. The focus was on Hue folk songs such as Ly Tinh Tang, Hoai Nam, Ngua O, Doan Xuan, Tieu Khuc and Mai Xap, Da Gao, and Khoan songs. Along with that, there were also Hue songs such as Luu Thuy, Long Diep, Lien Hoan, Ho Quang, Xuan Phong, Hanh Van, Tuong Tu Khuc... Teachers participating in the training also attended extracurricular programs, exchanged with artists, and Hue Chamber Music Club. At the end of the course, all students were awarded certificates of completion of the training program by the organizers.
According to the leaders of the Department of Culture and Sports of Hue City, Hue folk songs have been recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage and Hue City is actively building a dossier to submit to UNESCO for recognition as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity.
The People's Committee of Hue City has approved the project "Protecting and promoting the value of Hue Singing Art Heritage until 2030". In which, the important content is emphasized is to preserve Hue Singing Heritage associated with sustainable tourism development, suitable to local conditions.
Within the framework of the project, the Department of Culture and Sports of Hue City in coordination with the Department of Education and Training of Hue City agreed to implement the Hue singing training for music teachers of secondary schools in the city. This is considered a premise for building Hue singing clubs in schools, contributing to the replication of the heritage preservation model associated with the local education program.
Although the training course was not long, it brought practical results, providing the necessary foundation for teachers to continue teaching Hue folk songs to students - the future owners, contributing to the preservation and sustainable promotion of this precious heritage in the community.
