50 leading businesses attend the Vietnam-France Leadership Forum

NDO - Within the framework of French President Emmanuel Macron's visit to Vietnam, representatives of nearly 50 leading Vietnamese and French enterprises in the fields of aviation, banking - finance, energy, retail, healthcare, education, etc. attended the Vietnam-France Leadership Forum event.

The event was co-chaired by Mr. Truong Gia Binh, Chairman of FPT Board of Directors and Mr. Benoit Clocheret, Executive Chairman of Artelia Group.

On the Vietnamese side, there were representatives of the Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA) and large enterprises such as FPT, Vietjet, CMC, BIDV , BRG, TH attending the Forum. On the French side, there were representatives of the French Employers' Confederation (MEDEF), the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam (CCIFV), the French Network of Foreign Trade Experts (CCE), the French Business Chamber and leaders of leading enterprises such as Airbus, Alstom, TotalEnergies, Odyssey, Thales, Suez, EDF, SNCF, Systra.

This is the first time the event has been held with the aim of promoting business cooperation between France and Vietnam through strengthening joint ventures and partnerships between leading corporations of both countries. At the same time, this event is also expected to attract more French enterprises of various sizes and in many different fields to develop their business in Vietnam, while encouraging more Vietnamese corporations to seek business development opportunities in France.

FPT and OdysseyEducation Organization (France) signed a Letter of Intent for Cooperation.

Also within the framework of the event, FPT and Odyssey Education Organization (France) signed a Letter of Intent, marking the beginning of a strategic relationship to bring high-quality French training programs into the Vietnamese education system. Odyssey Education - a French international education group, specializes in providing French education programs from kindergarten to high school, with 13 campuses in Europe, North Africa and Southeast Asia. Odyssey Education is a partner recognized by AEFE - an agency under the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs - in developing the global French education network.

In the context of science and technology, innovation is identified as a top priority for Vietnam's rise in the new era. At the same time, this is also a field identified by France as having a breakthrough for the maintenance and development of France in the coming time. Cooperation between enterprises of the two countries in the fields of science, technology and innovation is expected to make an important contribution to promoting France's strengths and creating breakthrough and comprehensive developments for Vietnam in the future.

FPT Chairman proposes “co-presence” strategy with French enterprises.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Truong Gia Binh, Chairman of FPT Board of Directors, said that he is ready to accompany Vietnamese and French enterprises to build new economic relations, reflecting the dynamism of the two countries. The Vietnam-France Leadership Forum was established, bringing together leaders of leading enterprises to act as a catalyst for realizing new economic relations and new opportunities to build a prosperous future together.

To support French businesses in facing global challenges, FPT's Chairman of the Board of Directors proposed a "co-presence" strategy, encouraging French businesses to establish a presence in markets where FPT is constantly expanding its workforce.

“Although France and Vietnam are facing different challenges, we are also addressing similar issues in sustainable development, industrial digitalization and social transformation. That is why we encourage members of the Forum to establish joint ventures and partnerships in both countries, aiming to attract more French companies to develop their business in Vietnam, while encouraging Vietnamese corporations to expand into the French market,” said Benoit Clocheret, Executive Chairman of Artelia Group.

Within the framework of the Forum, a roundtable discussion session also took place, focusing on market analysis, sharing business experiences and exploring bilateral cooperation opportunities between Vietnamese and French enterprises.

Representatives of Vietnamese and French businesses expressed strong interest in forming strategic partnerships in key areas such as sustainable energy, urban development, modern transport, healthcare, retail, IT human resource training and financial services.

Sharing in the discussion session, Mr. Pham Minh Tuan, Deputy General Director of FPT, and General Director of FPT Software, FPT is ready to accompany French enterprises in Vietnam as well as on a global scale, especially in developing high-quality human resources, knowledgeable about advanced technologies, and having the skills to work effectively in a multicultural environment.

According to data from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, France is Vietnam's fifth largest European trading partner (after the Netherlands, Germany, the UK and Italy), with trade turnover in 2024 reaching 5.42 billion USD, an increase of 12.9% compared to 2023 (4.81 billion USD).

In terms of investment, France ranks 16th out of 147 countries and territories investing in Vietnam with 700 valid investment projects, total registered capital reaching 3.95 billion USD. Meanwhile, Vietnam has 20 investment projects in France with total registered capital reaching 38.93 million USD.

France was the first European country where FPT expanded its operations in 2008. Since then, the company has cooperated with many leading corporations in the world such as Airbus, La Poste, Air Liquide, Quadient, Canal+, Sagemcom, SNCF, Geopost and many others.
