Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Chess Federation Nguyen Minh Thang said that the youth tournament is a great opportunity for players to compete. Vietnam Chess has also considered sending the most suitable team of experts to this tournament. When asked about expectations for results, Mr. Thang emphasized: The players participating in this tournament are all good choices for the sport. They all have their own abilities. However, in a world-class arena like this, many young players from other countries are highly skilled, so the Vietnam Chess team will have to compete very carefully if they want to win a medal. Among the 6 players participating in this tournament, Dinh Nho Kiet is the player most known to chess fans compared to the others. He is also the player with the most expectations and that expectation is considered a worthy assessment of his ability. However, this also puts a lot of pressure on Kiet when he has to shoulder the responsibility of winning a medal for the Vietnamese Chess team in this tournament. At the 2024 World Youth Championship, Dinh Nho Kiet registered to participate in the U14 men's age group. The men's content in this age group has many players participating. Nho Kiet has an elo of 2333, so he is in the top group of the U14 men's content. "The players participating in this tournament are all good choices for the sport. However, in a world-level arena, many young players from other countries are highly skilled, so the Vietnamese chess team will have to compete very carefully if they want to win a medal" - said Mr. Nguyen Minh Thang. Vietnamese youth chess has recorded a number of successful faces in the world arena such as: Dao Thien Hai (U16, 1993), Nguyen Thi Dung (U12 women, 1994), Hoang Thanh Trang (U20 women, 1998), Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son (U10, 2000), Le Quang Liem (U14, 2005)... And now, Vietnamese youth chess is still full of confidence waiting for more young faces to continue that achievement./.
