80th National Day: The brilliant “Ba Dinh Red” cultural space in the heart of Hanoi

From August 30 to September 2, the “Ba Dinh Red” program brings a series of unique experiential activities, from the red shirt parade with yellow star, culinary-heritage space to street art, spreading the spirit of patriotism.

On the evening of August 30, at Truc Bach walking street (Ba Dinh ward, Hanoi), the opening ceremony of the program "Ba Dinh Red" took place with many unique art and cultural- tourism promotion activities, attracting the attention of many people and tourists.

The program is organized by the Hanoi Department of Tourism in coordination with the People's Committee of Ba Dinh Ward, aiming to honor cultural and historical values, spread patriotism, arouse national pride, and affirm the image of the creative and unique capital.

In her opening speech, Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism Dang Huong Giang said that the program of cultural and historical tourism activities in Hanoi in 2025 with the theme "Red Ba Dinh" is an important tourism promotion event of the capital, aiming to honor cultural and historical values, spread patriotism, arouse national pride; at the same time affirm the image of Hanoi as creative and rich in identity.

The program contributes to connecting destinations, introducing products and tourism tours in Ba Dinh ward, thereby attracting more and more tourists to the capital, contributing positively to the development of Vietnam tourism as well as the socio -economic growth of the city.

The highlight of the "Red Color of Ba Dinh" project is 28 thousand national flags flying on an 800m long street (Ba Dinh ward, Hanoi), creating an unprecedented image in the capital, celebrating the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day September 2.

Throughout the 4 days of the program (from August 30, 2025 to September 2, 2025), people and tourists will experience a variety of unique and novel spaces and activities. Many cultural-experiential spaces are designed, from the exhibition "80 years of the successful August Revolution and National Day September 2," decorative miniatures connecting the streets, to the area displaying tourism products, taking photos with miniatures, and resonant decorations.

In particular, the activity under the theme “Heritage Road” led tourists to visit and offer incense at typical relics such as Quan Thanh Temple, Thuy Trung Tien Temple, An Tri Communal House; experience the exhibition booths on Truc Bach Street and on four 2-storey tram cars designed with the themes “Pho Car,” “Bao Cap Car,” “Rice Car,” “Tea-Coffee Car.”

“Ba Dinh Red” also introduces Hanoi’s culinary festival, from the space of ancient culinary memories, Ngu Xa-Ba Dinh culinary area, to Vietnamese street food stalls.

In parallel, there are a series of art programs: Ca Tru performances at An Tri communal house, interactive street art performances, ... creating attractive highlights for Ba Dinh cultural space during major holidays.

Notably, community activities such as the “Independence Station” also attracted a large number of participants: drinking water relay station, national flag exchange station, “Save feelings” board where people and tourists write and draw their feelings about independence-freedom, love for the homeland; along with green tourism and digital tourism experience space.

Sharing at the program, Chairwoman of Ba Dinh Ward People's Committee Pham Thi Diem hopes that the program "Ba Dinh Red" will be a journey connecting the sacred memories of the nation with the current life of the capital, an opportunity for people to look back at the heroic past of the nation, to have more confidence and aspiration in the new era, the era of the nation's rise.

Chairwoman of Ba Dinh Ward People's Committee Pham Thi Diem said that in the coming time, Ba Dinh Ward will continue to promote heritage values ​​associated with conservation and creativity; thereby not only preserving the ancient relics intact, but also breathing into them a contemporary breath through artistic activities, festivals, and interactive experience spaces, so that the heritage becomes more vibrant and closer to everyone.

Before the opening ceremony, about 500 people wearing red flags with yellow stars paraded on the streets, creating a vibrant and solemn atmosphere, joining the joy of the whole country towards the 80th Anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2.

With elaborate and creative investment, the “Red Color of Ba Dinh” program is expected to become a unique tourism product of the capital during the great festival, contributing to promoting the image of Hanoi as friendly, rich in identity and increasingly sustainable development./.
