On September 5, in Hanoi, the Organizing Committee of the Project “Sounds of Brotherhood: Discovering Talents” presented awards to young artists in the fields of visual arts, music and theater.

The project is organized by the World Youth Orchestra Foundation (WYO) in collaboration with the Vietnam National Institute of Culture and Arts Studies (VICAS) to promote creativity and innovation, support and develop expertise, facilitate connection and cooperation, and especially provide financial support for artists to implement art projects.

After the judging rounds, the Organizing Committee selected the 8 best works.

In the field of visual arts, there are works: "Good Night" by Tran Thao Mien, "Bug" by Bui Bao Tram, "White Coral" by Nguyen Thi My Dung, "Dream World" by Bui Duy Manh and Luu Trong Viet.

In the music field, the Organizing Committee awarded prizes to Nguyen An Nhu for the work "Huong Sen Dong Thap" and Nguyen Ngoc Tu for the work "Ballet Symphony Hoai Van Hau-Tran Quoc Toan."

Nguyen An Nhu was awarded for her passion for music, as well as her great creativity in improvising music, according to comments from the Organizing Committee.

Speaking at the award ceremony, Associate Professor - Doctor Nguyen Thi Thu Phuong, Director of the Vietnam National Institute of Culture and Arts Studies (VICAS), said that a large number of applications were sent to the Organizing Committee, specifically 43 applications in the field of visual arts, 9 applications in the field of music and 6 applications in the field of theater.

According to Ms. Phuong, the number of applications submitted shows that the art community in Vietnam is very strong, and diverse in many forms.

“To achieve today’s results, we had a hard time choosing, because most of the submitted works have high artistic quality, creativity, originality, and the way the artists structure their artistic stories is extremely unique and diverse. As the organizing agency, we will consider this as a motivation to connect with more funds and organizations to support the art community in Vietnam,” said Ms. Phuong.

The project is funded by Italy's CDP Fund, which is part of an Italian public bank.

Present at the award ceremony, Mr. Marco della Seta, Ambassador of Italy, expressed his joy when Vietnam was chosen as the first destination of the project in Southeast Asia and was proud to support this initiative, contributing to promoting exchanges between the people of the two countries.

According to the Ambassador, “Sounds of Brotherhood” creates effective cooperation and establishes links between institutions, culture and academia of Italy and Vietnam.

“The project, which is the result of a fruitful collaboration between the Vietnam National Institute of Culture and Arts Studies and the World Youth Orchestra Foundation, is an excellent example of what cultural cooperation between Italy and Vietnam can achieve. I am particularly proud of this initiative because it will make an important and concrete contribution to the projects of several Vietnamese artists,” the Ambassador said.
