Mornings at Ha Tinh Rehabilitation Hospital begin with a very unique sound: the gentle rolling of hospital bed wheels, the steady rhythm of the exercise machine, and the soft call of a technician: “Keep going”, “Stretch a little more!”.

There, whether it is a warm room with yellow light, bright fluorescent light or a room with a strong scent of medicinal herbs, the hands of doctors and technicians patiently massage, support each arm, lift each foot, and help the patient practice the seemingly familiar movements that they have unfortunately lost. In that place, each movement is awakened not by surgery but by perseverance, expertise and a "motherly" heart.
After more than 10 years in the profession, Mr. Ta Quang Hue - Chief Technician of Internal Medicine Department A - CLC (Ha Tinh Rehabilitation Hospital) is very familiar with that scene. He said, what makes him love his job is the moment he witnesses the recovery of patients.

For Mr. Ta Quang Hue, physical therapy is a journey of constant innovation. He and his colleagues have implemented many advanced techniques such as: respiratory rehabilitation, new-model exercise therapy, treatment of congenital torticollis in children or heat-cold therapy to stimulate muscles. Each successful initiative is another opportunity for patients to shorten treatment time and return to life soon. "We work with both technique and heart because only when patients believe and want to recover, all the efforts of the doctors are truly meaningful" - Mr. Hue shared.
With the same passion, Bachelor of Rehabilitation Nguyen Thi Long - Rehabilitation Department (Provincial General Hospital) is attached to many patients with musculoskeletal and neurological diseases. Graduated from Hai Duong Medical Technical University in 2015, she returned to work in her hometown with the desire to contribute a small part to help patients recover their mobility soon.

Among the hundreds of patients she has directly treated, the most lasting memories are the times she treated a newborn patient with sternocleidomastoid fibrosis. “Every day of practice, the baby cried, and the parents could not hold back their tears, but after just over 2 months, the baby's neck softened and his head could turn back to normal. At that time, I felt all the hardship was worth it,” Long shared.
For Ms. Long, compassion and patience are two indispensable elements of the profession. And each time she receives a patient, it is a journey with the patient to overcome fear and pain in order to restore the body's motor functions to normal.
Many patients who have come to Ha Tinh Traditional Medicine Hospital have become relatives of Master Phan Thanh Hy - Head of Nursing - Infection Control Department. He used to be in charge of the Rehabilitation Department, but now, although he has moved to another department, Mr. Hy still regularly participates in rehabilitating patients. He shared: "I am happy because I have maintained my love for the profession, constantly learning and sticking with this meaningful job for a long time."

The big difference of rehabilitation at the Traditional Medicine Hospital is the combination of modern medicine and traditional medicine. Here, rehabilitation is applied in parallel with massage and stretching methods using therapeutic machines with acupuncture, cupping, and medicinal fumigation. Thanks to that combination, many patients with motor paralysis after a stroke, spinal cord injury, or spinal degeneration have recovered significantly after a period of treatment.
Mr. Luong Van The (village 11, Huong Son commune) whose son suffered a stroke and was treated at Ha Tinh Traditional Medicine Hospital shared: “My son suffered a stroke while working in the South. After surgery, we brought him here for treatment with strong faith in the medical team here. At first, he could not move. After more than a year of patient treatment by the doctors, he can now eat and sit up by himself. I am extremely grateful.”
For physical therapists, the greatest joy is the moments when a patient's trembling hands can move again, or their legs can walk after many days of practice... What makes them most proud is that they have contributed to helping many patients recover and return to normal life.
