The program "Echoes of the Countryside" directed and artistically directed by People's Artist Nguyen Tien Dung - Director of the Vietnam Puppetry Theater has a neat structure in nearly 60 minutes, bringing viewers to an artistic space that is both lively and graceful, and magically gorgeous, woven by the meeting between puppetry and music , choreography, between traditional and modern elements to recreate and honor the most typical cultural features of the Northern Delta region.

Viewers can “enjoy” traditional village festivals with the performance “Drum festival-Singing-Writing”, folk games imbued with the village culture “Swinging-Cockfighting-Dragon dance”; be satisfied with the image of conical hats appearing from land to water in a surprising way in the performance “Conical hat dance”, be captivated by the graceful and gentle beauty of Vietnamese women; witness the interesting farming activities of farmers during the harvest season with the performance “Harvest day-Fox fighting”...

Two levels of performance on land and underwater combined with modern, sophisticated sound and lighting techniques and many creative experiments have created depth for the open stage space, contributing to recreating the magical, sparkling colors unique to puppetry art. Watching “Country Echoes”, the audience is not only delighted with the vivid and funny puppetry but also surprised by the appearance of real people on stage to perform and interact with the puppets. All have contributed to bringing an artistic feast that conquers the audience in terms of hearing, seeing and emotion.

People's Artist Nguyen Tien Dung shared that this is a special program designed to attract domestic and international tourists after two years of interruption due to the Covid-19 pandemic. When visiting a destination, tourists not only want to explore the beauty of nature and landscapes, but also want to learn about the unique cultural features and people's lives there.

That is the reason why in “Echo of the Countryside”, besides the puppet language, the creative team also combines many different artistic languages such as Chau Van, Hau Dong, drama, traditional and contemporary dance... with the appearance of a folk orchestra to recreate festivals, games, agricultural life, and spiritual life of the people of the Northern Delta. This skillful combination not only highlights the beauty of traditional national culture, but also contributes to complementing and embellishing the beauty of puppetry art.

The Director of the Vietnam Puppetry Theatre said that the program is staged and edited in a way that enhances, renews, and reconnects some of the theater's outstanding performances that have won high awards at domestic and international theater festivals and performances; combining new puppetry scenes and performances such as: swinging, water puppetry, dry puppetry singing... Depending on the schedule and ability to arrange time to enjoy the art of the guest groups, the theater can adjust and restructure the program in a more concise direction with versions that are only 50, 30 or 20 minutes long... The theater also has stage spaces designed in different scales, suitable to meet the enjoyment needs of each group of guests of different numbers, ensuring the coziness of space and artistic quality.

At the premiere, “Country Echo” received high praise from many travel agencies. Director of Easy Way Travel Vu Thi Thanh Ha commented: The program made a strong impression when demonstrating the investment in puppets, costumes, sound, lighting, etc. However, Ms. Ha also noted that this program is not only for domestic tourists but also for foreign tourists, so the theater needs to have a brief bilingual introduction before the show so that international tourists can fully and clearly feel the traditional culture of Vietnam as well as the unique features of puppetry art.

Sharing the same view, Director of Real Vietnam Travel Company Nguyen Thanh Trung said: Puppetry art, especially water puppetry, has always attracted international visitors because of its novelty and uniqueness. However, after watching, they often only find it interesting and strange but do not understand, so it is necessary to have a form of introduction to tourists about the program in advance. In addition, humorous elements suitable for each group of guests in the shows should be added to the program to increase interest; at the same time, increase interaction with the audience during the performance. Mr. Trung also suggested that the Vietnam Puppetry Theatre should research to create a space to experience puppetry for visitors when they come to enjoy the art at the theater.

There, visitors can play the role of puppeteers, take photos with puppets, try on puppet costumes or buy miniature puppet models and souvenirs featuring puppetry... This not only deepens the visitors' experience but is also an effective form of promotion for the theater as well as the art of Vietnamese puppetry.
