An Giang: Commencement of construction of inter-level boarding schools in border communes

Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son and leaders of the Ministry of Education and Training and An Giang province performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the Vinh Gia Primary and Secondary Boarding School.

This is also one of three schools under the "Inter-level Boarding School Project in Border Communes" that started construction simultaneously this morning in An Giang in the 2025-2026 period according to Notice No. 81 of the Politburo on the policy of investing in building schools for border communes.

Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son attended the groundbreaking ceremony for Vinh Gia Primary and Secondary Boarding School.

Specifically, the Vinh Gia Primary-Middle School Boarding School project was formed on the basis of merging two schools, including Luong An Tra Primary School B and Luong An Tra Middle School, built on an area of nearly 43,000m2, including more than 10,000m2 of additional expansion area with an investment cost of more than 186 billion VND.

The school has a scale of about 45 classes, 1,500 students; including many newly built items such as the administrative block, 13 classrooms and music room, 10 public rooms, 36 male dormitories and 36 female dormitories, a 330-seat dining hall, a multi-purpose house... In addition, the school also has a botanical garden, a vegetable growing area, invested in equipment to ensure national standards level 2.

Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son presented gifts and 20 scholarships to excellent students with difficult circumstances at Vinh Gia Primary and Secondary Boarding School.

At the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son presented gifts and 20 scholarships to excellent students in difficult circumstances; and to 10 teachers in difficult circumstances (each teacher received a gift and 1 million VND).

At the same time, Khanh An Primary and Secondary Boarding School, in Khanh Binh Commune, An Giang Province with an investment of nearly 15 billion VND and Giang Thanh Primary and Secondary Boarding School, in Giang Thanh Commune, An Giang Province were started with an investment of more than 187 billion VND.

According to the Department of Education and Training of An Giang province, the total investment of these three schools is more than 389 billion VND; of which, the central budget is 374 billion VND and the provincial budget is more than 15 billion VND.
