On September 28, Mr. Tran Quang Hien, Director of the Department of Health of An Giang province, said that he had signed a decision approving the results of the contractor selection for package No. 1: Generic drug package, part of the plan to select contractors to supply drugs in 2023-2025 for medical facilities in the province.

The package was bid by An Giang Central General Hospital through an open online bidding process, with partial bids. As a result, the total number of winning bids included 1,666 pharmaceutical products, with a total value of more than VND 1,868.4 billion, from the following sources: State budget; hospital fees; health insurance; revenue from medical examination and treatment services and other legal sources.
Thus, up to now, An Giang is the first province and city in the country to successfully conduct centralized bidding for drugs online according to Circular 08/2022/TT-BKHĐT of the Ministry of Planning and Investment . Thereby, solving the drug shortage at medical facilities in recent times, meeting the treatment needs of the people.
