On the morning of May 26, Thoai Son District People's Committee coordinated with the Department of Health to organize a rally to respond to the National Smoke-Free Week in An Giang province (May 25 - May 31, 2025).

Vice Chairwoman of Thoai Son District People's Committee Nguyen Thi Kim Chi spoke at the rally.

In recent times, Thoai Son district has implemented many models: "Smoke-free office", "Smoke-free school"... achieving many encouraging results in the work of preventing and combating the harmful effects of tobacco. The district actively cooperates with the An Giang Center for Disease Control to organize screening, counseling and support for smokers to quit smoking; incorporate the content of preventing and combating the harmful effects of tobacco intoeducational programs in schools and activities of trade unions and youth organizations.

At the ceremony, Vice Chairwoman of Thoai Son District People's Committee Nguyen Thi Kim Chi called on all levels, sectors, unions, organizations, agencies, units and each citizen to properly implement the Law on Prevention and Control of Tobacco Harms, actively participate in activities to prevent and control tobacco harms. Continue to propagate the Law on Prevention and Control of Tobacco Harms, the harmful effects of tobacco on human health. Thereby, raising people's awareness in activities to prevent and control tobacco harms and protect the environment.

After the rally, a convoy of medical units and students from Nguyen Van Thoai High School marched on main roads to strongly propagate to all sectors, levels, organizations and the masses to join hands in preventing the harmful effects of tobacco and creating a smoke-free environment.
